It's not even pathless, but good to know exactly where you'll descend. Orientation poor, especially if some unpredictable fog comes. Easier descent variant is drop from bivouac Busettini/Tarvisio towards Koritnica and there left towards Kotovo sedlo. That's a marked path, though it's not on the net. Condition of that path is good fitness, since the path is quite long especially that gully that brings you to Kotovo sedlo

Otherwise I do have experience with ferratas, free climbing and walking on pathless terrain and orientation in nature. Not all packed together like here, which makes the tour so interesting. Just I don't feel like carrying a rope along if not needed, because I'd sleep at Kotovo sedlo and then continue the path to Jalovec and to Vršič. That was the point. It's true I didn't find that discussion, though I searched for it. If I had, I wouldn't ask anything at all.

Anyway, thanks for the explanations! We'll see how the weather will be next week.. for now it looks a bit bad.

You don't need to go too early, you can go later and sleep in the Tarvisio bivouac (red bivouac). It's well visible from Vevnica and the next day you continue early.
These are nice spots
good luck

Hi! Does maybe someone know what the condition of the path is from the White Lakes to Vevnica?

In front of the wall there is a hard snow base, according to a friend's data

Hi!
Maybe someone knows what the condition of the path from Belopeška Lakes to Vevnica is?
I was thinking of Via della Vita, because of the snow before the entrance.

I don't know which path you mean. Because there is no walking path from Belopeška lakes. Unless you first climb to Middle Ponca and traverse the ridge to Vevnica, which is half climbing. Directly to Vevnica is only the via della vita ferrata, which is also very demanding. But the path is without peculiarities and dry, we walked/climbed it last week. Best regards and good luck!

Probably meant Via della Vita. It's like in previous years. At the beginning before entering the wall there's of course still snow. It was like that a few weeks ago
Good luck

From Belopeška Lakes the two most commonly "used" paths are. First path goes past Zacchi hut to Middle and Rear Ponca and further across Strug - which is very demanding - and from Middle Ponca onwards practically unsecured, second path is Via della Vita, which goes across Zagače and is also very demanding, but secured climbing path - ferrata. For both paths appropriate knowledge and protection or mountain guide leadership is recommended. There is also a third variant, Kugy path - from Zacchi to the ridge between Strug and Rear Ponca, where it joins the first path, here mountain guide is highly recommended. Good luck!

Snow is at the start of Via della Vito but doesn't hinder entry. Went through on Sunday 9. 7.

I headed to Vevnica from Loška Koritnica. Early enough start gave me shade all the way to the bivouac, otherwise not much sun on the path later either..
The marked path to Rob nad Zagačami (branching off the "main" Mangart path) is unprotected and from the start under and on the ledges to the bivouac it's finely scree-loaded due to erosion, helmet mandatory..
On the path to the saddle under Vevnica and V Konec špica at the start of the secured path for safer continuation one (first) cable is missing, felt its absence most on wet rock on descent, later no problems.
Returned to Koritnica via old mulatiera under walls of Mali Koritniški Mangart. Not too overgrown, slightly collapsed in places, but mostly followable. A bit "slower" than marked path but nicer due to grass, and if something flies down from under Kotova špica nasmeh also safer.

Our 7am start from Koritnica was early enough for shade almost to the bivouac. Thanks to hunters for exemplary path maintenance to hunting hut. From there we stuck to old mulatiera trace, definitely better ascent choice avoiding scree on marked path; not speaking of alpine flowers. Last 100 m height better follow unmarked path crossing under rock barrier on ledge right to left to grass by bivouac. From bivouac path from Rob nad Zagačami slightly descends to junction with Via della vita. Ascent from there to saddle between Vevnica and V Konec špica goes below over wet rocks. Summit view definitely worth it, enjoyed briefly as SW wind started bringing fog.

I would criticize the drive to Tamar a bit, wouldn't it be better to walk those few extra minutes through such a beautiful valley? If going from Tamar to Vevnica and back, then it could also be from Planica to Tamar mežikanje No hard feelings!
