From the latest pics, conditions have not changed much. Yesterday's temperatures around freezing made snow - "trodden, southern" even in shady spots. In sunny spots no snow to Planina Koren anymore. Some reached Planina and even Korena summit without crampons - with them much easier.

Today first time on Krvavec and nearby peaks: from P on Planina Jezerca to Dom na Krvavcu, over Veliki Zvoh along the ridge to Vrh Korena and to Planina Koren and back to P. Surprisingly lots of people and interesting - almost all walked the mentioned loop in the opposite direction than us two. Interesting, varied and scenic trail, part with chains for variety. Views to nearby Kamniks extraordinary, abundance of flowers: on Krvavec all yellow from dandelions, first pasque flowers and gentians blooming, higher everything purple from wulfenia, never seen so much, almost the whole trail accompanied us! Sun spared us this time and mostly hid behind clouds, also quite windy, so not too hot. Despite clouds views didn't fail... On Planina Koren we treated ourselves in the bar - welcome refreshment on long trail! No snow anywhere anymore. Mountain greetings

I also always go in the same direction as you two went. Something is to this tour direction. If nothing else, self-service buffet right at tour end

I agree. I can't imagine doing the same loop in opposite direction. Say, that part with chains is easier to tackle on ascent than descent. Maybe people want to avoid ascent on paved slope to Veliki Zvoh, that one really wore us out. But once you conquer it, you're at the top! Just ridge walking to Vrh Korena follows... Anyway, interesting tour in world unknown to us until now.

For goodnight I have one more question. Did maybe someone go today over Veliki Zvoh to Vrh Korena, to tell me if the trail is dry.

Miri, thanks. I read Primož and Tonika, they were up there on 6.10. But I don't know what fell yesterday.

Probably no snow, today it has nicely cleared it away.

I'm thinking of going early tomorrow morning to stretch legs for sunny sunrise. Anyone have local info on current road conditions to starting points? Snow overnight forecast, no chains, don't want to turn midway on road to Jezerca.. Anyone gone via Markova raven? Thanks for all replies!

From Planina Jezerca to Planina Koren, as well as to the summit, the path is well trodden. It is possible without them too, but crampons are recommended.

Yesterday (Wednesday, 6 April) from Planina Jezerca to Planina Koren then to Vrh Korena. A bit late, around 11am, I started this hike. Luckily it went well because two forerunners had made a quite comfortable track a few hours (or perhaps a bad day) earlier, by my reckoning. To Planina Koren the path was without issues, mostly snowy, sinking here and there on the slope under Krvavec. From the planina the track continued further, also on the old ski route. There too breakthroughs, not too often, but deep. Just below Vrh Korena the track (and I with it) headed directly up the ridge to the top, which brought some thrashing with snowy scrub. Won't repeat it, for those 50 meters next time I'd rather follow the ungroomed marked path a bit to the left and around. Summit views beautiful, everything gave the impression of some fresh belated winter. Sun blazing as if on purpose, but black clouds coming from the south. No footprints over Jež, no other traces in the snow, but I think I spotted some colorful specks on Kompoteli, which could be people. Perhaps they reached the summit via Medvedje jame or who knows where. Followed the forerunners' track to the start of the Jež path and then approximately down their trace to the path under Košutna. Last ski day on Krvavec. Met no one, only on the return above Jezerci, where the first 100m of path is bare, a female ski-tourer with skis on her backpack. It was a nice day. To me, walking on wet and breaking snow seemed quite tiring. Alone I would hardly have reached the summit. Therefore all the greater thanks to the forerunners who made the track. Sunglasses, sunscreen and gaiters are mandatory equipment these days.

Hello, has anyone after the storms walked from Roblek farm to Planina Dolga njiva? Is the path problematic anywhere?
