Went to Vrh Korena again to check. Up past Koča Koren, to Planina Košutna then Vrh Korena. Down over Ježev to Zvoh, Krvavec and to Kriška to Florjan for struklji. Still some snow on paths but no winter gear needed. Weather nice, just some wind on ridge. For Saturday very few hikers. Also, lots of rocks on the road to Jezerca.

We parked at Planina Jezerca, then to Kriška planina and under the ski lift to Dom na Krvavcu and further to Veliki Zvoh. The path warmed us up nicely, but by then we had already covered most of the elevation gain. The path along Jež ridge is varied and dry all the way to Korena peak, only on descent to the notch due to soaked and muddy path some caution is needed. On Korena peak the clouds also dispersed and it was really pleasantly warm and windless. We descended towards Kompotela, via Planina Košutna and Planina Koren back to start. Little traffic in these parts today.

Today I went from Kokra to Vrh Korena. The path is normally passable.

A loop that's always beautiful. Up over Planina Koren, back along the ridge over Zvoh. No peculiarities on the path, if we ignore those who don't walk the paths but crawlmežikanje

If anyone goes to Vrh Korena via Ježa this weekend, I'd appreciate info on the ridge path. I'm curious if there are any snow patches left.

Patay - if not too late, I'll tell you: path without snow, a bit wet ground in gullies that didn't bother the nice path but the wind did.

Thanks, not too late. Going up with colleagues on Tuesday. If still so windy then, we'll just go via planina Koren.

Yesterday, 28.10. walked the path from Jezerce over pl. Koren and pl. Košutna to Košutno and on to Kompotela then to Korena peak and over Ježa to Zvoh and descent over Krvavec to car. Some snow patches but nowhere obstructing walking. Path was dry and frozen. A bit windy on peaks.

I was this morning on Vrh Korena... Started from Jezerc via planina Koren to the top... Plan was also Kompotela but since no track or it was windblown, skipped it. From Kriška pl. to planina Koren track quite good, from pl. Koren onwards almost no track or made today by three hikers just before me and it leads over saddle, but goes more under Košutna wall and also from junction to Vrh Korena, Mokrica and Kompotela it goes straight along ridge to top. Track sinking at places up to boot, otherwise snow firm but not icy. Pics on FB

Today in excellent conditions over Vrh Korena to Zvoh. Started at Jezerce at ten, but not too late. Snow firm, to Vrh Korena perfect conditions for walking. Took half-hour break here for sun to soften top crust. Over Ježa slowly, most descents in reverse. Can't afford mistakes here. Descent to notch surprisingly easy, snow breaking through so made really deep steps. After notch some dangerous spots but careful it goes. On Zvoh summit another long break, then to start. Temperatures already quite springlike, whole day no hat or gloves, dressed in two shirts, looked a bit weird next to those skiers in down jackets.

Planina Jezerce, planina Koren, Vrh Korena. Down via Ježev and Zvoh. Wonderful day shaping up, no cloud, no wind. Not much snow, so no gaiters needed. Met only one hiker, not many skiers either. If you don't go, you don't know how nice it can be a bit higher.

Well, we also did a similar route on Sunday, only we included Kompotelo in the loop.
It was like taking a makeup exam, because 14 days ago we wandered in fog somewhere below Košuta, and it was blowing immensely, so we rather returned the way we came.

This time the tour started at -8°C, just as the fogs covering the valley were gilding, but higher up promising a nice day.
At Vrh Korena we debated whether to return the same way or do a loop via Jež. We looked skeptically that way, as footprints were snowed over, and no one around.
Decision to try anyway was right, a bit of adrenaline doesn't hurt, on the contrary, enriches the tour.

Korena Peak interesting also due to its height. One meter short of 2000m, that's its charm.
Actually planned only Kompotelo, but nice sunny day called to continue to Koren, and rightly so. From Jezerca parking via Planina Koren to Kompotelo, descent and ascent to Koren, return to Jezerca. Path nicely walkable, snow starts at Planina Koren, but not enough for carefree skiing. Maybe different today. More at: https://www.gore-ljudje.net/novosti/150851/

On Saturday 14.12. from Planina Jezerca over Vrh Korena and Jež(a) ridge back. Quite some new snow on path, track nicely done. Windy at summit, used winter gear over Jež, not needed elsewhere.

On Vrh Korena and Jermanov turn, hard, winter gear mandatory. Not as cold as previous days.

From Jezerca, past Koren hut to Vrh Korena. Crampons almost mandatory just before summit.
Returned via Ježev to Zvoh and Krvavec.
Weather really great, even short sleeves part way. Skiers just a sample.
Stopped at Pr Florjan for coffee and pancakes.
