Has anyone been to Koren in the last few days? Any peculiarities? I see that already on 10.12 there wasn't much snow left.

Today I headed for Vrh Korena but had to turn back early due to various issues. Info: path not trodden to Vrh Korena (at least till 11am today), track only to middle of descent to valley (don't know name). Further knee-deep trampling.

Pl.Jezerca, Kriška Pl, Pl.Korena and Vrh Korena then back the same path but at Kriška Pl turn to Kržišče and start.. Track is made to Vrh Korena. Day is quite good for hike but at some places whole leg sinks. On return meet three hikers to Vrh Korena one to Kompotelo that's all.

Today from pl.Jezerca, via pl.Koren to Korena Peak. Larger snow patches appeared from pl.Koren onwards, then snow was somehow constantly present, especially on descent it's really joyful when you can slide a bit on it.
At the top we barely caught clear panorama for a minute, then fog quickly rose, and beautiful views remained only in memory.

Has anyone hiked to Korena peak via Zvoh recently? I'm interested if there's snow on the more demanding part of the path (cables)?
I plan a tour via Zvoh to Korena peak and Kalški greben, back via Dolgih Njiv to Kriška planina.

Yesterday my main goal was Vrh Korena. Parked at Planina Jezerce parking. Parking full at half ten a.m. Everyone collecting medicinal herbs for teas - mainly thyme and plahtica. Ranjak wilted here. Need to go higher. Then via Kriška planina to planina Koren, via planina Košutna to Vrh Korena. Weather held. Mists and clouds competing what to hide from views. Valley sunny. Then Ježa ridge and via Veliki Zvoh back to parking.

For now nothing has hidden in the fog yet.

In front of planina Koren below the hunter's hut a herd of cattle.

In front of planina Koren this nice grassy knoll.

Further to planina Košutna. Above planina Koren there are even a couple of fixed ropes in the rocks.

Above planina Košutna is Košutna summit.

To Vrh Korena. Crossroads before Vrh Korena.

Unfortunately fog and clouds were mischievous.

Here and there something was revealed. That is the rocky subpeak of Korena.

Below is planina Dolge Njive - I see a flock of sheep, every year I see a herd of horses too.

Lesa has been moved outside the fence on Veliki Zvoh.

I was with a colleague on the holiday. Unfortunately the weather turned bad as seen on photos of previous post. A little after nine clouds started appearing covering almost everything. So we didn't go further to Kompotelo and Mrzlica. jezen

Back to Kriška planina and then from sadness back up to Zvoh and Krvavec.

So again a bit to this end to check. Jezerce, Koren hut, then to Kompotelo / skipped Košutno / From Kompotelo to Vrh Korena and via Ježev to Zvoh. At Kriška stopped at Florjan for coffee and apple strudel. Go to pay, give 10 euros, lady returns 7 euros, ask did you charge all, says yes all. Coffee with milk 1 euro, strudel 2. On Sunday at Lipanci coffee alone 2.5 euros. zadrega

Snow only from Koren hut, dry, no ice, nice to walk. Over Ježev, no one ahead of me in this snow.

In the morning we all watched the sunrise together

A bit late. 11.12.2015. Nice circular tour. Start Jezerce - Krvavec peak - Zvoh - along ridge - Vrh Korena - planina Koren - Jezerce. Nice path, on ridge some snow and ice in places (careful), over Ježa path dry. At hut on planina Koren very friendly keeper (open by chance). Recommend. Nice regards.
