Topic was moved here.

Gita, I agree with your opinion. It also seems to me that by opening the same topics again and again, clarity is lost. So probably over time the overview by topics or regions will become unimportant, but only search by entry date. I suggest considering the already open topic and entering the article there, not opening a new one.

I would also suggest reversing the order of the chronology display by dates. It would be more useful for me if the last entered article in the topic is displayed at the top and not at the end of the topic. So that upon opening the topic the newest articles show first.

Otherwise full praise to the admin who manages this page, as I assume there is lots of work with editing.

Nice greetings to all and safe in the mountains!

Yes, nice, moved topic...

But where are the wonderful winter pics taken at Vršič. Few days ago I saw them on this page but unfortunately didn't have time to look closer. Now when I have time and wanted to see them, suddenly they're gone...
Wonderful shots of snowy Vršič. Really shame they dropped out...confused

Or maybe moved somewhere else or did they drop out? If dropped, really shame...

The trail started a bit before the Soča-Trenta spring and along the forest path to Vršič. The trail is easy and considering most drive to Vršič, don't expect crowdssmile

Hello!

Yes, this trail just before the Soča source on Vršič is very nice and really undemanding. I've been there 3 times already. It's more for those who need peace, because it's very solitary (also walking through a dark coniferous forest). When you get to Vršič, then you have more options; you can go down the same trail or by bus to the turnoff for the Soča source or... Nice trailmežikanje

They've been posting for a few days that the road over
Vršič is closed, but that's not true at all, I just went or rather drove over it today. I start at the 33rd bend (1202 m asl), cloudy lightly snowing, plenty of snow to nicely slide up on skis. Since I previously well waxed the skins, the new snow doesn't stick at all, the higher I go the more snow, but it goes really easily. What peace, no cars, no "tourists" at the pass who usually still don't know where they are, what the mountains around are. 4.5 km behind me, I descend further to Erjavčeva koča, which is of course closed, they'll open it only on weekends and holidays, if the snow conditions are favorable for the hut keeper's access. Then I return to the pass and climb up to Poštarski dom, remove the skins and wax the skis, then whoosh down towards Trenta, it was flying so that even Majdič's servicer could learn something about waxing.

as long as the brush is outside there is no excessive fear of avalanches that would bury the road5

Super tour for such grayness, Igor! Also ahead with the weather it doesn't look much different, so we'll get used to the low light somehow. Well, at least no problems with snow.

Hello, does anyone know up to where the road to Vršič from Kranjska Gora is passable? Thanks and LP.

Since I occasionally hike in the mountains above Vršič I have this among my favorite pages on the computer: http://www.promet.si/portal/sl/razmere.aspxin so I'm always informed about traffic conditions. So the road Kranjska Gora - Vršič - Trenta is passable with winter equipment only for passenger vehicles.

Hi! I'm interested in what the road to the Vršič pass is like. Are chains needed or are winter tires enough? And also, which direction do you recommend for a regular hiker to Mala Mojstrovka? What equipment do I need? Thanks for the ANSWER Marko!.

The road is plowed, sanded, salted, normally passable. For Mojstrovka you need winter gear, today I met two youngsters, a boy and a girl without any gear, good that there's snow, otherwise they'd probably go in sneakers.

If you maybe don't know what winter gear is (no offense):
Crampons, ice axe, helmet is also recommended!
Safe steps and good luck

Today it was cloudy on Vršič, occasionally foggy, light rain or drizzle all the time. On top 5 cm new snow fell, lower old one melts fast.
