Up to Koča na Gozdu plowed, then snowed again. All compacted and conditionally passable. Problem is meeting oncoming, since plowed only for good car width. Above Koča na Gozdu road snowy, but beaten track made.
At 2nd serpentine also traffic sign prohibiting further driving.

hello. tomorrow my friend and i plan to go to vršič. i'd like some info on what you think about the conditions (from primorska, don't really know exactly what's up there now though i'm reading arso), if there's high avalanche danger....in the forest and on milder slopes like vršič it shouldn't be dangerous? and do you recommend touring skis or snowshoes? thanks in advance

A bit above the 2nd serpentine there's a small parking lot, up to there it's plowed. Further on foot, without snowshoes or touring skis harder, but yesterday afternoon a snowcat was messing around and spoiled the innocent whiteness. No idea why, hope it didn't go to the top. Mihov dom was open yesterday.

Today on Vršič from Trenta. Snow is melting fast below. Skiable up there above 1100 m, otherwise I believe that in a couple of days the limit will be above 1300. From Supča up really a bit more dangerous. A couple of small avalanches on the road, one a bit bigger that's more awkward to cross. Two guys tried with snowshoes from Supča onwards but turned back soon, as it was sinking too much for them. At the top really lots of snow. Two huts below Ticarjev dom completely covered in snow.

From the Gorenjska end to Rjavčeva hut, where the warden is more than friendly. And the struklji are excellent. Thanks to GRS for the track they pulled ahead of me. Great trip with useful part.

We too "broke through" today to Erjavčeva hut from Gorenska side mostly along the road. For walkers at times strenuous but doable. Would also praise the new? warden. For me the hut was on black/avoid list for some time, today we dropped in after a long time because "it was open". Guy is friendly and sociable, price of "that short one" reasonable, food supposedly ok too (group's opinion)/all contrary to 2-3 years ago, so no reason not to stop again when opportunity.

Today we three family members (me with wife and younger son) used the holiday vacation day, and of course solid weather for a bit longer walk from hotel Erika, where the road is officially closed, to the pass at Vršič. The road is groomed all the way to Erjavčeva koča and walking presents no problem at all. This was proven also by two Italians who walked up there like going to mass, one in nice sports sneakers, the other in polished black school ones of course with smooth sole. Italians didn't go to the top, since ahead led only poorly trodden and freshly snowed-in trail.
Snow at the pass is a lot, view around is quite different than in summer. Road in upper part fully drifted and buried with snow. Peaks around stand lonely, no side paths, since emergency trail continues only straight along the road to Bovec side.
In short nice walk in solitary winter idyll.

Today on Mojstrovka. By car to height 1460 m. On return they were diligently working so maybe can get to top.

On Sunday road plowed to third serpentine, there can leave car. Probably in these days still nothing different.
