Vrtača via Mala Glava

Today in windy conditions to Vrtača via couloir joining marked path just below summit. Some climbing in it, mainly "šodranje".mežikanje
Descent via Mala Glava and through the krnica towards the valley. On this path noticed lots of new cairns that weren't there last year.zavijanje z očmi
In the krnica this year they cleared dwarf pines, so path became almost a road.mežikanje

If opportunity arises, better take it. nasmeh So I went from Ljubelj border crossing along Ljubeljščica ridge to Zgornji Plot, then towards Suho Rušje. From the krnica via Mala Glava to Vrtača and down normal route to Zelenica and back to border.
Landslide active, markers marked it.

Well, lots of choices when you reach Ljubeljnasmeh...and since I watched it previous day from Begunjščica, decided for my fave tour via Mala Glava to Vrtača.
To Zelenica quick, bit above, start of Suho Rušje, sun warms me and so whole daymežikanje. Turned left too earlyzadrega of course, bit trampling, hugging bushes, then steeply to saddle where ridge starts.
Already in first "gully" snow, but avoidable on dry rocks, and so further, mix grass, snow, rocks, so on grass I had ice axe instead of poles and though it doesn't bite, feeling better?! No crampons needed, but caution as ice hides under/on grass...
Views from summit fantastic, saw everything and more, ehvelik nasmeh

For descent tempted by dark Y gully, but no snow at entry, and didn't know further, so descended other side via one gully, quick descent, and snow to marked path approach.
No martincanje without, especially as fog dominated valley whole day, step down toughnasmeh, otherwise sunny warm day, just too little snownasmeh

A bit late start from Ljubelj to Vrtača via SE ridge. Ridge mix of everything. Descent via Y, over one shorter jump and second bit harder. Mixed conditions. From solid to crumbling. Nice weather on Vrtača, no wind.

On Saturday, before the dog days heat, with princess up via Mala Glava and down the usual path. Path without special features, cairn at junction to Suho Rušje stands. Up alone, down in our direction also, opposite direction some crowd. Nice trip, recommend!

Today up some steep grasses that even Trentarske mountains wouldn't be ashamed of. zavijanje z očmi Descent via SE ridge over Mala Glava.

On Sunday still on wet road towards Ljubelj, then along the border (hunting) path to Zelenica, which I haven't walked fully until now. On every path always something new, unknown until thennasmeh

New for me was also the ascent to Vrtača namely over Mala Glava, which I wanted for a long time.
Cairn for Suho Rušje was set, but on return it was gone. No panic, junction is well visible. But hurrying on this path was also the lady with dog, mentioned on these pages. To our surprise she greeted friendly and in advancenasmeh

Along the whole path we looked around the surroundings and sought new challenges. Attracted was the view to ridge from Mož to Palec, interesting was also the exit of gully Y a bit below Vrtača summit.

All peaks around had visitors, rarer on Palec and Zelenjak, more crowded on Vrtača via normal route and Begunjščica.

As always joy on summit, on descent joy at thought of new plans in these partsnasmeh

Today to Vrtača from Tržič side via SE ridge over Mala Glava. Very nice loop tour, path well trodden, but "markings" appeared (similar to Western Julians). Descent via marked path.

If I'm completely honest, I don't fully understand this outrage. In Italy there are actually quite a few such marked approaches. And nobody complains too much, such "semi-marked" paths can even be very attractive.

Indeed, in Italy many paths are marked like that, but they are marked in maps and guidebooks as marked. These marks are (speaking only for the Western Julians) very poor, faded and superficial. Otherwise, paths marked with numbers on a white background between red lines are on the same level as ours, and the safety gear is usually impeccable.

It wasn't a donkey, there were two jennies; I had the honor to meet them on Sunday. When one proudly announced that they'd descend their own route. To my remarks about this mess I got mockery and yahh lejji.

Let them mark your apartment if you like it so much. But leave pathless terrain alone. Some simply don't have all the balls on the pole to grasp the seriousness of the act and the damage they cause.
