Which flower is this?

To complete this topic about our bellflowers. So on Kras we'll find Justin's, already mentioned repens and Marchesetti's, along the coast already mentioned pyramidal.

I put aside Carniolan or woolly-leaved a bit, which we shouldn't confuse because of those long grassy leaves.

Remaining are three medium-high by growth - monstrous, Beck's and Witasek's.

Woolly-leaved or Carniolan bellflower.1
Monstrous bellflower.2
Beck's bellflower - not confirmed.3
A year ago I photographed Justin's bellflower near Škocjan Caves.4

At that time I also photographed Repušč's bellflower.7

With nursery edelweiss no one has particularly good experiences. If some rascal indulged and robbed one from nature, it would thrive even less. Just can't give them proper conditions. From seed to bloom it takes quite some years. But possible that some year it doesn't bloom. You'd have to see the leaves though.

Velkavrh, thanks for thorough reply and display of bellflowers. I see you're a big enthusiast. They have special place with me too. Now that I saw your examples, I think I saw rhomboleaf in Dolomites. Rock bellflowers were also a bit different in Dolomites from those on path to Kališče. Possible that on my last pic it's Beck's, could be Witasek's. But for proper determination my botanical knowledge should be much greaternasmeh. nasmeh LP

Obviously last year I looked poorly at "my" rock, didn't see edelweiss leaves, since this year it's nicely blooming again and hope many more years. nasmeh

Let me present some more flowers from foreign realms that don't grow here with us - Italy, Austria.

nasmehBranko, one last time about bellflowers, otherwise I'm "afraid" you'll get bored of me. Do you think any other bellflower on some pics, or all Scheuchzer's? Thanks and best regards everyone!
P.S. I also use handbooks (Lippert, Hoppe, Wraber, Pintar&Seliškar - Flowers of Slovenian land), but pics of individual plants often differ, sometimes quite a lot and confuse me quicklynasmeh

By flowers they are the same-I think they will all be Scheuchzer's. Hoppe also has quite dubious flower shots in several pictures and some of our mountain flowers aren't in there at all or descriptions are poor.

Well that time has come,
time that's not for "us",
for us who love flowers;
have to wait till spring...

Me too I'm browsing my shots and here are some unknowns; please help...

otiv, just so no one stole it. I know how bad you felt. Maybe it was so dried out nothing to see, this year it sprouted fully.

Brane, wonderful flowers. Primula latifolia is called širokolistni jeglič in Slovenian. The pinnate hawkweed you can't identify here maybe because you take them all for hairy onesnasmeh

Brane, one more: by what do you judge that Vit's unknown bellflower is simply round-leaved? I can't agree.

I browsed a bit for round-leaved bellflower, I think even botanists don't separate which is the true one. velik nasmeh

Apolonija, you don't know how glad I was about my primula. Really grows in such beautiful spot... don't see such beauty often.

I wonder if both are globeflower...

Mistake-meant pot-bellied but wrote round-leaved.

Will check my pics of hairy hawkweed. Know difference is quite big. Pinnate have as far as I know only one flower head atop stem, while hairy hawkweed has up to four atop stem. Both have wilted heads looking hairy.

Brane, seemed to me you meant pot-bellied.
Otiv, sure it's on both pics. I think you know and are testing us a bitvelik nasmeh leaves and flowers can be like that or arranged differently.

otiv, both are globeflower but sviničastolistni svišč. Somewhat similar to marsh svišč-I haven't seen it in nature yet.

I quite seriously asked, Apolonija.
By lay judgment, they are quite different, namely by the arrangement of flowers and also leaves. Thanks to both nasmeh

I've been reading you all day, how pleasantly you "chime" about little bells and it's interesting to follow your knowledge and dilemmas.
Otiv, regarding the willow gentian it's nicely explained on this page that there are two types of this gentian:

I like both. lp nasmeh

Zlatica, thanks. Now I'll know that, but I can't say the same for the flower below that I found today on Šmarna gora - Grmada. Similar to knapweeds, but flowers very tiny...good 1 cm diameter and about 80cm tall
