Branko, for your wolfsbane I'd say it's variegated. Regards

The first would be Heart strength, the second Triglav felwort...

Under Stegovnik on the meadow these beauties grow. If I'm not mistaken, it's globeflower, relative of buttercups.

bos, zokipoki probably joked a bit, at least regarding Triglav felwort. On the first picture it's not heart strength but marsh orchid (which exact one, I don't want to guess), on the second it's forget-me-not. samoa, yes it's globeflower. Regards

Zvončica, I wasn't kidding thanks for the correction, only now I saw that it has five petals on the flower, heart strength has six... so the first one is five-fingered orchid.. Triglav gentian though...

No, zokipoki, something's still off, heart strength has a 4-petaled flower, not six. That's practically its infallible identifying feature. For the gentian you'll need to climb higher though. And maybe @bos will really delight us with it next time.

otiv, you're quite right about the striped wolfsbane. Striped wolfsbane we really find above 1500m. At first glance both wolfsbanes can really mislead us. Here we find six species of wolfsbanes. My picture of the blagayka has disappeared somewhere.

On the path from Long Meadow to Fat Košuta I photographed some flowers too, for which I ask for help with naming. In addition, a question how to distinguish between Pyrenean houseleek and stemless catchfly.

silvo1952 no. 1 - Pyrenean houseleek - correct no. 2 - fragrant wolfsbane - this altitude is the border for the start of striped wolfsbane. no. 3 - hairy sheath - possible mix-up with shaggy sheath no. 4 - common milkvetch - at this height we already find alpine milkvetch too. Alpine has five-part leaves, common has three-part leaves. no. 5 - flower is yellow, yes. The shot isn't close so dilemma if it's five-finger or little sun. Attaching illustrative difference between stemless catchfly and Pyrenean houseleek.

On our Kozjak quite a few flowers are blooming, I went to look at them before the rain wets them...- but some I don't know, so Zlatica I give them into your hands..

kati, 1. very nice picture of gentian, but neither leaves nor flower top are visible, which could tell more. Definitely not many-flowered gentian; the Austrian or woolly have red stamens. I'd say woolly, because it has dense panicled inflorescence. 2. probably columnar-fruited dog rose, although I don't see stem nor sepals, whether they are thorny. 3,4,5,6...correct. 7. yes, globeflower it is, but which one can't be determined without leaves. Flower doesn't reveal much. 8. nice reddish-brown burnet, 9. hardy silverweed, 10. edelweiss species. Regards

Regarding monkshoods, we should mention the botanical peculiarity of Goričko - bushy fragrant monkshood. It is an endemic subspecies that grows only in the area of NE Slovenia, W Hungary and SE Austria. In Slovenia it grows exclusively in the area of the municipalities Šalovci and Hodoš. Some lady's slippers from meadows at the foot of Uršlja gora, on the top there was a real field of narcissus anemones and some willow gentians.

Zvončica, more heads more knowledge, says the Slovenian proverb, and so you nicely alerted us to another special species of monkshood that was unknown to me too. Now I've read more about it. Very nice that this species exists too. The upper set of flowers is also very colorful and beautiful, especially Kamnik willow gentians. Number 8 is rock rampion.
