Today along the path to Zelenica I came across a flower I don't know and I'm asking for help.

I'm also posting some photos of little flowers along the path continuation to Palec. There were lots of edelweiss and Zois bellflowers and although I posted some of their photos already from the Mojstrovka trip, I couldn't resist two more from today. Hope it doesn't bother you too much.nasmeh

Zvončica, it's sharp-leaved mallow-Malva alcea. The more violet one is woodland mallow. Both grow in my immediate vicinity, so also lower.

Hawkbits possible two -mountain hawkbit-Leontodon montanus subsp. montanus or curly-leaved hawkbit-Leontodon crispus, which is borderline flower per Flora Alpina.

Yes it's mallow, just small correction to Slovenian name, Branko, it's sharp-leaved mallow.
It's nice, Zvončica, right?
I photographed it on top of Slavnik less than a month ago, probably didn't post it. Lpnasmehnasmeh

I've done some research since 2018 on the tour to Ankogel-Austria on unprocessed unknown flowers and got confirmed findings from experts. Only grint is from the tour to Brento-Italy. That was by far the most interesting tour regarding mountain flowers. I saw more of them for the first time-among them glacier gold and more. Ordinary dog's tongue is from Risjak in Croatia last year.

Next week I'm going for four days to Austria to conquer Sarntal Alps. If we're lucky with the weather we will conquer 10 peaks all around 2700m high. I know for a rich alpine botanical tour it's about a week too late, still I hope to capture as many mountain flowers as possible.
This is common hound's tongue-Cynoglossum officinale-photographed on a trip to Croatia -at Risjak-it also grows here.1
I haven't seen it here yet.2
All subsequent small pictures are from the 2018 trip to Ankogel -Austria -this is furrowed saxifrage-Saxifraga exarata subsp. pseudoaxarata. It is a border saxifrage. Limestone-Exarata subsp xx-does not grow with us.3
Alpine mountain sorrel-Oxyria digyna -also grows with us-I have not seen it yet.4
I did not get confirmation that it is saxifrage-Saxifraga bryoides-does not grow with us -but it is border.5
Two-flowered saxifrage-Saxifraga biflora -I have already seen and identified it in Austria a couple of years ago-does not grow with us.6
One-flowered fleabane -Erigeron uniflorus -grows with us -I have not noticed it yet.7
Alpine ragwort -Senecio alpinus, according to Flora Alpina it is a border flower. Photographed in Italy -trip to Brento.8
Alpine bittercress -Cardamine alpina -photographed on the trip to Ankogel.9

I encountered these flowers by two drying lakes - Palško and Cerkniško lakes. Of course, these flowers differ substantially from high-alpine mountain flowers, but it's interesting to me because I got to know completely new species too.

zlatica, interesting and instructive-praiseworthy! I don't know most of them. Marsh whistle I've been searching for about a year, but I haven't found it yet. Those red-colored edelweiss I can't distinguish. Grint I haven't found either. Jointed bloody sedge I even grow on my flower beds. Amethyst moss I always see on vacation at the sea.

Today I'm finally going with our retirees for the first time in the corona period on a hike to Velika Planina. I'll see what else I'll see from the otherwise rich floral wealth of the mountain. Otherwise, next week I'm going for four days with PD Rašica Ljubljana to the Sarntal Alps in Austria. Austrian alpine flora is always interesting to me because each time I discover something new that doesn't grow with us.

From the flowers on Velika Planina it can be seen that summer is slowly departing, at least for mountain flowers, because late summer flowers like marsh self-heal, cross-leaved whistle, cup whistlewort, Turkish glutton are already blooming.

Branko and Zvončica, thank you. I'm glad that there's also some new plant for you two, since you already know a huge number of them. Yes, on Velika Planina it's really harder at this time to find flowers, my husband is a frequent guest on the mountain and reports to me how it is there with plants, so I know they are fading away. And cows trample and eat a huge number of them. Considering that, you still found a lot.
I'm sorry you didn't go to Mangart, I see that the neighborhood pulls you more than this end of Slovenia, as it eludes you every year in a row. I hope you'll collect a lot of little flowers at least in Austria.
And some flowers from Bistrica today. They are quite ordinary, but always beautiful to me.

silvij, excellent knowledge of mountain flowers.

under no.10 you have the same as I had on Velika Planina - the last spring edelweiss can still be found. The Triglav one is so characteristic that we can hardly mix it up.

under no. 11 and 17 you have Scheuchzer bellflower. These are actually the most common. They grow almost from lowlands to 3000m. They are always taller than pot-bellied or bushy ones. They have one flower per stem. Not in rocks. In rock crevices live pot-bellied, Zois and round-leaved. It's really hard to pronounce. I just call it Swiss.

under no. 12 and 13 you have Carinthian edelweiss. Somehow I'd only find rock one still, which grows in those characteristic clusters. I can't distinguish other edelweiss - we'd find half-stemmed, one-flowered - grows right under Triglav summit, south-alpine, Soča one. But there are many valley ones too.

I see there's much more flowers in high mountains. Of course on Velika Planina there are still plenty - we can find from avens to edelweiss.

Zlatica, even ordinary flowers on your photos are specialnasmeh.

Velkavrh, in my opinion on your picture no. 5 from Velika Planina it's rayed thistle. Creeping thistle doesn't have such bract leaves.

Silvij, in my opinion on your picture no. 4 it's blue-green and not shaggy stone houseleek. Best regards

I'll liven up our page a bit with my saxifrage photos. I'll note which I found in Austria. I focused on saxifrages a season ago. Still missing quite a few. Haven't found granular -Saxifraga granulata, unusual -Saxifraga paradoxa, mossy -Saxifraga androsacea, pungent -Saxifraga androscendens here yet.
Double-flowered rockjasmine - found in Austria. Doesn't grow here. I find this one in Austria often.1
Blue-green rockjasmine. It is also common.2
Burser's rockjasmine - has the largest flower of the rockjasmines and blooms first in spring.3
Black-scarlet rockjasmine - endemic to Krn mountain range. Subspecies of the gnarled one. Found on Krn.4
Clustered saxifrage. It has characteristic rosettes that no other saxifrage has.5
Homul rockcress.6
Host's saxifrage. We have two subspecies. This one has dots in the flower-Saxifraga hostii subsp. rhaetica. We also recognize it by the longer leaves.7
Wedge-leaved saxifrage.8
Wedge-leaved saxifrage. Shade saxifrage.9
Furrowed saxifrage - a subspecies of the furrowed one - found in Austria - not present here.10
Carniolan saxifrage - a subspecies of the furrowed one. I first found it on Razor.11
Musky saxifrage - a subspecies of the furrowed one. We will surely find it on Razor.12
Opposite-leaved saxifrage - found in Austria. It also grows here. I have already found it on Kanjavec.13
Shaggy saxifrage. Its leaves look as if they had touched frozen moss. It is very common.14
Scaly saxifrage. Actually our most common saxifrage.15
Scaly saxifrage. If you don't find any other, we will surely find this one.16
Round-leaved saxifrage. It loves shade and moisture.17
Rough saxifrage - found in Austria - Saxifraga aspera. I don't know if it grows here.18
Three-fingered saxifrage. Found on Vremščica and nowhere else. It is supposed to grow around Planina Pri Jezeru, but I didn't find it.19
Evergreen saxifrage. Next to the scaly one, our most common saxifrage. Flowers also turn pure red.20
Starry rockjasmine.21
Delicate saxifrage - Saxifraga tenella - from the Dolomites - Italy - not verified if true. It grows here too. I haven't found it here.22
I found this on Jezersko. It is Changed saxifrage - Saxifraga mutata. I deliberately looked for it and found it just a couple of years ago.23
It is rare. I know only one growing site around there. It grows on a rock that is rare in Slovenia.24
This one is also rare - found in Bavšica. It is rock saxifrage. I found it for the first time in Bavšica by chance.25
It grows in the shade under rocks. I have found it only three times.26
I found this one in Austria - undetermined.27
Cluster saxifrage - subspecies - found in Austria.28
Cluster saxifrage - subspecies - found in Austria. Likewise found in Austria.29
Hohenwart's saxifrage - on the right - found in Austria. I haven't found it here yet. It also grows here.30
Saxifrage found in Austria - Saxifraga biyoides.31
Saxifrage found in Austria - undetermined.32
