I don't know exactly if I've ever presented my photographed docks. I know that alpine dock and Bohinj dock confuse me. Especially the alpine has two subspecies - locally. One subspecies is even cultivated in garden centers - called Caucasian dock. This is supposed to grow naturally on walls in Istria - data from Small Flora of Slovenia. According to Small Flora of Slovenia there are fourteen in Slovenia. Special is the bluish dock. Mr. Strgar from Bohinj has it in his picture collection. I never found it. But a few years ago on Velebit I saw their blue dock.

malenka, when I looked at HN this time, I stared at the red bartsia. How surprised I was! I see your photos are from various places, so it must be quite widespread, but I see it here for the first time. Thanks for the discovery. I need to get some more info on this flower, when it blooms, what family it belongs to, as I couldn't decide by looks alone..it reminds me of field sage..

Zlatica, thanks. Toothwort is quite rare, even more overlooked because the flowers are small, of inconspicuous color, the plant can hide among other stems. It belongs to broomrapes. Even rarer is yellow toothwort, which I myself haven't seen in Slovenia yet, although there are quite a few sites scattered across SLO in Materials for Atlas of SLO Flora.

Thanks, malenka, for the explanation. So that I don't conclude quite without photos, here some botanical snapshots from yesterday's walk through the forest in my area. The fern - hart's tongue fern is very interesting to me, one of the few ferns I know. It actually has different outer from inner leaves with their functions. @malenka could surely tell more about it. Greeting to all flower lovers.

Yes, zlatica, ferns also deserve our attention, they are beautiful, as are mosses. Lots of learning awaits us to recognize as many as possible. LP
