Velkavrh, Scopoli's hawkweed grows on rocky karst soils. On Nanos it was first discovered and described by the Italian botanist and physician Giovanni Antonio Scopoli. It was named after him. Besides Nanos, where it grows exclusively in rock fissures above Razdrt, it also grows on Snežnik. We find it also in Bela krajina, where along the Kolpa river, in Osilnica municipality, there's a bit of typical karst world. I wrote a bit much , but hope it's interesting for someone. So on top of Virnikov Grintavec Scopoli's hawkweed does not grow. . But the hawkweed photo is very nice. LP

Zvončica, thanks for the note (wasn't necessary for me ). Velkavrh, you annoy me with your notes, which are very superficial and contain wrong claims. For the Turkish monkshood you wrongly think that the key hairs are on the edges of the sepals, which is not true; both the Turkish and cat-tailed monkshood have them. Only the cat-tailed has hairs on the surface of the perianth leaves, while the Turkish one is smooth there! This is best seen on buds when flowers are not yet open (similar to gentians). In my photos a bit earlier, those hairs are nicely visible on picture 3. Your monkshood is cat-tailed. LP

Here are some more flowers from yesterday that we usually don't pay much attention to, but in November we rejoice in them and so it will be until the first frost. And we all know them well. LP

zvončica, thanks! But we'll have to go to our Snežnik in spring or early summer. This year my colleague and I were here in late summer. I visited it for the first time.

I always review what malenka presents to us and like to comment a bit. I mistook the little windflower for the hairy pasque flower at first glance. Now I have known it well for several years. If we go towards Vodnikov dom we find it at the top of Studorski preval. I find forest hawkweed in the nearby forest. In general I have only a minute to the forest and there I discover many of these forest valley flowers - bellflowers also grow there - I don't know if I see the presented Hoppe's bellflower there too - and along the forest road also colorful meadow clover. I know the low sedge - I always see it on Krvavec. Otherwise I don't know grasses. I know Haynald's or July gentian. It has those characteristic inflated bracts of the flowerheads. But you really need to photograph the flower precisely to see it nicely. I have clustered gentian on the edge of my little meadow. Otherwise according to Small Flora of Slovenia 28 species of gentians grow in Slovenia. I know only a handful. I grow St. John's wort even on my herb garden - I brought it from nature. I find common mullein in the nearby forest. I know marsh thistle - malenka identified it for me. Field thistle and also common sowthistle grow on the field next to my little meadow - the field is not on our land. Unfortunately various invasive plants are overgrowing on the field - here I see everything from Japanese knotweed to Canadian goldenrod. Unfortunately the neighbor doesn't remove it. I don't know red bartsia. I don't know common Christ's thorn shrub. In spring before the corona outbreak we walked around Karst. Possibly I saw it then.
