Which flower is this?

Distinguishing Clusius' and Koch's gentian is difficult. At first glance they are identical—namely the flowers. Koch's gentian is extremely rare and we rarely encounter Koch's. We distinguish them by the lower part of the flower. Koch's has lanceolate sepals narrowed toward the base and connected by a thin white membrane. Few distinguish them. The leaf rosette is also a bit different. This year I'll try to make really good distinguishing photos of both.

I'm a layman too, I do this purely amateurishly. Yes, this year my fourth season researching and studying mainly mountain flora, though not neglecting lowland. Improved photography too, but much to learn there. Last year e.g. in 2km radius around home discovered 250 flowering plants whole season. Walked fields, forests, streams, river, meadows, marsh, bogs. Didn't recognize all of course. This year focusing mainly on Črni prsti and Krnsko pogorje, but will take me to Italy too to favorite Planina Pekol and from there Poliške Špike.

Brane, I see you've added some more flowers. I like that you sort by colors and mainly by genera. Easier to visualize and remember that way.
Do you know more about the long-stemmed primrose you photographed? I know the tall-stemmed yellow one and long-flowering one similar to mealy.

Adding pics where you can see hepatica is also pink here (many shades—from pure white to dark violet); top is Jasione montana in bellflower family, bottom Carinthian national wulfenia (Wulfenia carinthiaca Jacq.), home on Mokrine above Šmohor.

And some more blue you know. Lp

With the long-flowering one I mixed up the naming a bit. Last year I saw it several times, even around the hut at Prehodavci.

Already two years ago I focused a lot on gentians, so they are close to me. In eastern parts of Central Alps grows only white-colored Styrian gentian. Some hobbyist told me she finds it yearly at Spodnja Komna—maybe. In southwest parts also alpine, similar to Clusius's—growth a bit lower. From small ones also snow, dwarf, Bavarian and short-leaved. Also prostrate, which I have in rockery—cultivated—Gentiana prostrata. Also marsh one, which I haven't seen yet.

Maybe you don't know bird seed—top left, I photographed it on the Karst. The plant is similar to narrow-leaved lungwort.

Now to our high yellows. In between, some valley one sneaks in that also grows higher.
In our forests and even much higher we find medicinal arnica, which is protected. Last year I found it even in Italy above the Pekol pasture and the find really surprised me.1
These I found on the path around the Brda estate.2
We will find common hawkweed along forest paths and also higher up.3
Common goat's beard is found on meadows and higher pastures.4
Lady's slipper also belongs among the tall yellow flowers.5
Our valley meadows and also higher up are full of biennial foxglove.6
Tufted vetch foxglove from Kambniški vrh.7
Austrian hawkweed is common in the foothills - this one from Zelenice.8
Mountain foxglove - this one from Črna prst.9
Somewhere on the path to the Triglav Lakes valley behind the Ovčarija pasture, above the path, a real yellow carpet of shining hawkweed surprises us. These are about half a meter tall bushes full of yellow flowers.10
Right here below the path we see a huge growth of yellow gentian - it is protected. They make medicinal bitters from its roots - gentian.11
Common hare's foot.12
Carniolan lily or golden apple - our native lily. This one from Stari Ljubelj.13
Yes, they are really beautiful.14
In between, even some yellow-colored ones appear, otherwise they are orange.15
Among the yellow ones we could also count the beautiful thistle. Other thistles and teasels are mostly pinkish.16
Here is also the soft thistle. The Carniolan one is colored like this too.17
This is one of the lučniks - there are several species and I can't distinguish them yet.18
Bloody milkweed.19
Large-flowered foxglove - this one from Krvavec.20
Roughly the tallest yellow flower is the common marigold next to the giant goldenrod. We will find it right at the hut on Komna. It is an introduced species. They brought it here during World War I.21
It has giant yellow flowers.22
Water flag - we see it cultivated in our gardens, in nature around streams and marshes.23
Common leopard's bane - this one is from Jošt.24
Spotted leopard's bane.25
Common golden saxifrage - this one is from Jezerce pasture under Krvavec.26
Narrow-helmet monkshood - the only yellow one of the monkshoods, the others are blue.27

Alpine goldenrod.29
Giant goldenrod. It is similar to the Canadian one.30

Cutleaf coneflower.32

Brane, these yellow flowers bring optimism like the sun that appeared here after a long time. The plant in pic 19-greater celandine /Chelidonium majus/ reminded me of childhood years when we rubbed warts with its bloody milk. It belongs to the poppy family.

My tall red ones will come later. But I haven't heard of orange suholetnica. Rožnordeči dežen is also called Austrian dežen and that confused me last year. Rožnati gadjak I found even on top of Veliki Zvoh last year, otherwise we always find it on Črni prsti. Veliki zali kobulček I even find near my home.
