Beautiful flowers adorn this page. You are masters of photography! Otiv, your crocuses powerfully cover the lawn. 5 for candytuft B.C. In Gorenjska they call daffodils locks. You know why? Lungwort is probably just bluish? I see that golden root-(Asphodelus albus)8,9 will bloom soon. 13 could be mouse-ear chickweed- Cerastium fontanum? Grenkuljica is right. Regards

I've added names to my flowers, thanks for the help. Lungwort is really almost completely bluish, slowly fading away. I know you call daffodils locks in Gorenjska, but I don't know which name explanation is most credible. Some say the reason is that daffodil has locked stamens inaccessible to bees, others that stem is hook-shaped, third that it has key to spring, probably more explanations exist.

Good day, B.C. You know, I root most for the first explanation you mentioned. Will there be nice pictures again today? I can show only from the garden again. Regards

Apolonija, you have more flowers than the botanical garden in Ljubljana. Your diligent hands have to weed all that and ensure everything is as it should be in the home garden. Best regards!

Otiv, thanks for understanding-)). They say if you want a nicely arranged garden, you need more of the same plants together to stand out. I've set it up differently. I want to observe as many different plants as possible and admire them. Many small flowers wanting different good conditions at once...no chemicals for bees, weeds, wind, snow, drought....often hard to cooperate with nature

Apolonija, beautiful flowers. Otiv is right, admiration is not deserved only by flowers but especially by the one who cares for them so devotedly and exemplarily. Here the sun shone in the afternoon, which I immediately used to drive around a bit without special expectations. It was worth it as I found the mountain primrose that I'd unsuccessfully sought for some time. Pictures tomorrow.

I can't wait to see it. I only know it's similar to the marsh one, haven't seen it in nature yet.

Nice! Isn't that a wild tulip, similar to ours from the moor, where I've seen it many times.

Thanks. Yes, it's a tulip, otiv. Just not the marsh one, but the mountain one, which doesn't need moisture. Prefers dry. Seems to have even more intense colors.

Isn't mountain tulip the same as pogačica? That somewhat smaller yellow flower...? Just a question, I don't know much about it anyway.

@Macesna, pogačica is a different flower, like mountain logarica or mountain tulip. You probably know pogačica, yellow flower on a longer stem and looks like a tiny cabbage head on a petiole.

Not the same. Pogačica belongs to the buttercups, like zlatica, kalužnica, vetrnica, teloh.... marsh tulip, mountain tulip to the lily family.

Some more yesterday's pictures taken near the Gabrk sports airfield by Divača. Star of the day was of course mountain logarica, well, cuckoo flower isn't lagging too much. Mountain kosmatinec is already ripening.

Phew, thanks to both for the reply. Yes, otiv, that small yellow cabbage-like head on a stalk is what I meant.

Hello! I've already missed you. On the rock you photographed three garden flowers; two saxifrages, white and red Saxifraga x arendsii and garden auricula -Primula x pubescens. Regards

How everything is early this year! Lots of things blooming around Vipava around May 1st are already blooming. Hawthorn, elder, Solomon's seal and even lilies of the valley are blooming. Today above Portorož I saw an elder with very unusual leaves. Maybe ornamental?
