Freiungen (O) is 2218 meter high peak in the Karwendel Mountains. The peak is located 5 km east-northeast from the center of Reith bei Seefeld and 5 km north-northeast from the center of Zirl. The nearest mountain hut is Eppzirler Alm, located 1.8km north. bivouac Dr. Bergmannhütte is also relatively close. East of the summit is the valley Großkristental. The peak is located on the ridge Erlspitzgruppe.
