Hochetzkopf is 1902 meter high peak located in the High Tauern mountain range. The peak is located 2 km southwest from the center of Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße and 7 km south-southeast from the center of Kaprun. The nearest mountain hut is Gleiwitzer Hütte, located 3km west. A little further is Bichl Alm. 5 km southwest from the summit there is glacier Walcher Kees, 6 km south-southwest from the summit there is also glacier Sandbodenkees. South of the summit is the valley Käfertal.
