Hohes Hochkesselegg is 2260 meter high peak and is part of the Dachstein Mountains. The peak is located 0.4 km north-northwest of peak Hochkesselkopf. The nearest mountain hut is Adamekhütte, located 1.4km east-northeast. Ebenalm is also relatively close. 2 km east-southeast from the summit there is glacier Großer Gosaugletscher, 5 km east-southeast from the summit there is also glacier Schladminger Gletscher. South-southeast of the summit is the valley Preunegg.
