Knospe is 2392 meter high peak and is part of the Zillertal Alps. The peak is located 1.4 km east-southeast of peak Außerbrunner. The nearest mountain hut is Kasseler Hütte, located 5km west-northwest. A little further is Alpenverein Ahrntal. 2 km northwest from the summit there is glacier Grasleitenkees, 5 km west from the summit there is also glacier Westliches Stillupkees.
