Marterlkopf is 2440 meter high peak and is part of the Berchtesgaden Alps. The peak is located in country Austria 5 km northeast from the center of Hinterthal and 7 km north-northeast from the center of Dienten am Hochkönig. The nearest mountain hut is Franz-Eduard-Matras-Haus, located 4km southeast. Closer is bivouac Wildalmkirchl-Biwak, which is located 2.0km to the west-northwest. The peak is located east-northeast of the valley Vorderglemmtal.
