Description:
Metzgerstein is 2781 meter high peak in the Stubai Alps. The peak is located 6 km west from the center of Praxmar and 7 km south-southwest from the center of Sankt Sigmund im Sellrain and 1.3 km south-southeast of peak Gleirscher Roßkogel. The nearest mountain hut is Pforzheimer Hütte, located 1.4km northeast. And bivouac Vorraum Tourismusbüro (täglich geöffnet) is also close by. 4 km south-southeast from the summit there is glacier Gleirscher Ferner, 5 km south-southwest from the summit there is also glacier Grieskogelferner.
