Mitterkopf is 3347 meter high peak in the Ötztal Alps. The peak is located 8 km south from the center of Plangeross and 8 km northwest from the center of Vent. The nearest mountain hut is Taschachhaus, located 3km west-southwest. A little further is bivouac Rheinland-Pfalz-Biwak. 4 km south from the summit there is glacier Mitterkarferner, 5 km east from the summit there is also glacier Tiefenbachferner.
