The peak is located 7 km north from the center of Ramsau am Dachstein and 8 km south-southwest from the center of Obertraun. The nearest mountain hut is Simonyhütte, located 3km northwest. A little further is bivouac Modereck. 2 km southwest from the summit there is glacier Schladminger Gletscher, 4 km west from the summit there is also glacier Großer Gosaugletscher. The peak is located south-southwest of the valley Koppental.
