Stange is 2714 meter high peak and is part of the Zillertal Alps. The peak is located 5 km northwest of peak Wildgerlosspitze. The nearest mountain hut is Klammer's Jausenhütte, located 4km northwest. A little further is Karlalm. 6 km east of the peak there is lake Unterer Gerlos See. 3 km southeast from the summit there is glacier Schönachkees, 3 km east from the summit there is also glacier Ebener Kees. The peak is located north of the valley Hundskehle.
