Our largest insurance company will again sponsor the renovation of one trail this year. Vote here.
As a path marker from PD Celje-Matica, I kindly ask you to vote for the trail Logarska dolina-Okrešelj-Kamniško sedlo, of course you can vote for any of the other proposals.
The trail from Logarska dolina to Okrešelj is extremely popular and crowded. Besides "real hikers" there are also lots of tourists who opt for the ascent to Okrešelj when visiting Logarska dolina, so it's essential the trail is safe for all visitors, including those less skilled in high mountain terrain. Last year two rockfalls badly damaged the trail, part of the trail past the Savinja spring was even washed away. Path markers with help from volunteers of other PDs and mountain rescuers ensured trail passability, but long-term renovation needs a comprehensive rehabilitation approach, where the PZS technical team will play a major role.

The old hut burned down a couple of years ago. The new one is not built yet, but a temporary wooden hut was built, where you can get a drink and something to eat. You cannot spend the night, because no sleeping facilities are available. The hut is open, but in case of poor weather conditions, it stays closed.

The path with the bypass was newly marked in September 2024, and it was partially restored again in late April 2025. You can still get to the Savinja River source (30 m from the marked path), but then you have to return to the marked path. I wish you a safe hike.

Not quite sure about that trough, but they'll let you fill a bottle at one of the settlements where they also have food and drink. I assume you'll come from Planina pri Jezeru direction, where you can fill a whole canister if you want, so I don't see urgent need to refill at Dedno polje, as at Seven Lakes you'll get unlimited water again.

The path to Okrešelj is open, only before the source of the Savinja a temporary detour (bypass) to the right into the forest above the source and around it has been made. About 10 m of path before the Savinja source was washed away. Further towards Okrešelj the path is BP. Towards the K. saddle however the newly formed gully a couple of minutes above Okrešelj is problematic. The markers of PD Celje Matica will try to ensure the passability of the path in the shortest possible time.

In October and November you won't save anyone's season, as all huts (except rare exceptions like Komna) in high mountains close by the end of September. But they could easily stay open at least in October, maybe November. There would be fewer visits than in summer but more pleasant for visitors.

Bills need to be paid, no other way. The portal could be paid, then there'd be no ads.

There is a large arranged free parking lot here.
This is actually the starting point for Grmada and Celje Hut. For CPP, as described above, you start along Savinja back towards Celje and then as described.

promet.si says the roads to both Kot and Krma are closed. But the actual situation is probably better known by a local.

It seems to me that this signing has gotten a bit out of hand. This year at Vršič my daughter pressed the stamp and when I asked the hut keeper for a signature, he looked at me a bit blankly, like, I don't remember when I last signed in a booklet. Then he gave his blessing, but I somehow understood that it's no longer necessary for the hut keeper to sign. I might be wrong.

About four years ago, around 9:30, I was returning from Mojstrovka by car towards Kr. Gora. Somewhere near Koča na Gozdu, I picked up two foreign hikers who had already been waiting half an hour for the bus. I don't know all the stops of the bus on the Trenta-Kr. Gora line, but according to the timetable they had, that bus should have arrived long ago, and during all the time they waited, no bus passed by. They were already a bit panicky because they needed the bus in Kr. Gora to catch the train in Jesenice, from where they wanted to make the next train to Beljak in time. Anyway, I drove them to the bus station in Kr. Gora, where they caught the bus to Jesenice at the last moment. I'm not saying it's the rule, but from the above testimonies, these things happen absolutely too often.

So, my view on the so-called green passage.
32 years ago I did my first ascent to Triglav. Since we planned quite an extensive hike with different starting point and goal, quite some logistics was needed. Hike plan was: Vrata - Stanič (sleep) - Kredarica - Planika - Dolič - Prehodavci - Sedmera jezera (sleep) - Komarča - Bohinj. Don't laugh, we collected all possible stamps along the way. To even pull this off, we first drove by car to Bohinj, left the car at the camp (good old times of free parking ). Then bus to Boh. Bistrica, then train to Jesenice, then bus to Mojstrana, then on foot to Vrata and even to Stanič. That was all first day. Uh, we were crazy. Today I surely wouldn't repeat it.

And a more recent experience. This year I camped with daughter in Boh. Bistrica, from where free buses go to various places, most popular of course the route to the lake. Well, we chose this bus, but upon arrival at Danica it was already full (third stop on the route), so they didn't take us. Next one in over an hour, and again no guarantee it would have space. And what do you do in such a case?

Picture 2 - simply can't believe it. Is this just new casing or can you now actually go to the toilet normally? Because if these are normal WCs, it would deserve publication on front pages of all news portals and a piece by Marjeta Klemenc on TV Dnevnik.
