For the route I took 5-6 hours. Given my pace, I assume a "normal" hiker would do this route in about 10-12 hours.

Some photos from today's ramble in the Kamniks namely: start KB(at end)-Skuta via Žmavcarje-Dolg hrbet-Grintavec-Kokrško sedlo-start. Weather ideal for walking (for ascent), on Grintavec fogs were already swirling, on descent from saddle to valley I got a cold shower... Few hikers so all the more diverse animal encounters.

For the entire route including stops I spent approx. 8 hours. Given the current temperatures, I advise against starting around 8 o'clock.
The short ascent and descent from Dolkova špica strongly remind of Kočna - walking on nasty scree, while the crossing under the walls of Gubno and Dovški Gamsovec takes place mostly on rocks.
Safe steps!

Yesterday I set off for Skrlatica. Start at half past four from Vrata. Walked all the way in shade, real meeting with sun only at the top. Continued the route over Dolkova špica to Kriški podi. After short break then descent over Sovatna where it was already quite hot to the start.

Start from Mač towards Hudičev boršt, followed by traversing the slope past the new hut to the eastern ridge and then steeply up to Cijanovca. There wind and fog awaited me instead of the sun. I continued past Srednji vrh and Mali Grintovec to Kališče (skipped Bašeljski vrh due to the weather this time). After a well-deserved drink, descent to the car. The trail is almost entirely snow-free, I recommend it to alpine flower lovers in about 14 days. And a couple of photos

I went from Kamniška Bistrica where winter gear is no longer needed. On the north side there is more snow - I think it's recommended to take crampons along.

mežikanjeToday after a long time back at Kamnik Saddle. After morning hesitation about the weather conditions I still decided to try. Almost no snow on the path, the hut was closed today due to the weather (snowflakes with wind).

Congratulations to Sabina and Urbanček for nice moments in the magnificent corner of the Julian Alps!

Sabina1967 thanks for the congratulations. Next visit to Jalovec will be from Tamar (next year). Congratulations to TanjaM too.

Let me brag a bit too. Last Saturday on Prisank, today again to Vršič and first time on Jalovec. Return over the shelter below Špička. Despite early start, the sun was scorching hot on return. Took 7 hours for the whole path, won't comment on difficulty since I was in high mountains anyway!
And a couple pics.

Today, after uncertain morning weather, I still went to Skuta. Start from Ravenska Kočna via Mlinarsko Sedlo. On the summit, sun and strong wind awaited me. Return through Turski Žleb and then via Savinjsko Sedlo to Ledine.
And a warning. There was a police ambush at the parking lot - they were waiting for those who drove past the no-driving sign (vehicles that were parked at the cargo cableway).

Today early start through the gorge and return over Škarjev rob, so I escaped the hot sun too. Regarding the above exaggerated comments about the difficulty of the path through the gorge, I can only say that the ascent to Triglav from Kredarica is harder and more exposed (and many inexperienced hikers go there) than the mentioned path. Still, the rule of caution at every step applies (whether the ascent is easy or hard). And nice mountain greeting!
gregorp14. 09. 2011 10:25:20
I was up there on Wednesday. No trace anywhere neither of water nor of politicians, just snow on the Triglav ledges.

One more liter of drink and good luck!!
