Saturday morning forecast has no precipitation for now so I'd go up.

From the webcams it doesn't look like I need to pack crampons and gaiters - extra 1kg. Subzero temperatures start only at 2500m so I guess if anything it's rain not snow up there.

They promised me snow, but I got rain - what a shame ...I'll go find my own measure

Start at 7am green, to the hut it gradually whitened, to ca 5cm "powder sugar", in shelter of slopes and forest... from hut on, saddle and towards Dobrča summit and to Šentanski vrh 15cm fresh and strong "bora"... in short enjoyment

So by next winter I'll buy both: winter boots and crampons and question is which system to invest in: classic, semi-auto or auto.

Hello, I'm considering buying specific 12-point crampons for hiking. So far I've managed mid-mountains with strap-ons but ambitions for next season have grown. Now there are sales so I'm already looking a bit. At the same time I'm thinking of buying a winter pair of boots that don't soak through in snow for 5+ hours.

I don't plan to ice climb, but I'd like to go in winter e.g. to Stol, Grintavec and eventually with enough experience to Triglav.

The dilemma where I need advice is whether to buy automatic crampons and suitable boots or semi-automatic "set".

Today from Črni Kal, up and down via J trail "via Prva Ravan" - trail dry as pepper, everything blooming.
