Yesterday on Gran Zebrù. The gully is completely dry and there's also little snow on the saddle, so free climbing on rock on the left is necessary. Still crampons and ice axe are needed for crossing the snowfield that leads to the last ascent before the summit. On the picture from the net, red is the classic variant, blue the path that's necessary according to current conditions.

Hi everyone, I'm interested in which path leads from Montaz to Vis. We have a trip in the program and they told us it's possible to do Amalio, down Pipanovi, there a path should start towards Vis, and descent from Vis via Anita Goitan to Corsi hut. Does anyone have more detailed info on this option and how much time such a trip would take? LP Devan

Has anyone been to Mangart recently? Interested in the situation in the gully (route usually marked 5e that joins the winter one). Jump covered or bare? Thanks in advance

I don't see the problem. The road is closed. If someone doesn't feel like walking let them drink coffee/beer in Kranjska Gora. Or let them go by car and if there's a fine they'll pay mežikanje

"...in Austria everyone respects crosses...."

As for the helmet, don't worry, they say we on the Karst have a head hard as stone.... Anyway, I'm not the one in the picture.
@ms_primoz probably, if in seven years only one picture is posted there's no great danger of disappointing anyonemežikanje.
Cheers to all

Relax.... I think you're making a mountain out of a molehill now. 3 pages of debate because of one photozmeden well, a couple of pics if useful for someone to see what the conditions are like....

If someone wanted pics at my old car, and leaned their butt on the hood for it, I probably wouldn't make such a fuss. As for culture or manners, I show it by not littering in mountains, not yelling, not scaring animals,... and when I see (on yesterday's trip) on descent hikers rushing to the top without ice axe, I advise them to turn back because the path isn't safe without full winter gear. Most folks reaching the summit with a cross get photographed leaning on it. But it bothers you so much that I instead of shoulder on pillar put my butt on crossbarzmedenzmedenzmedenzmeden

Back to conditions: yesterday on Slovenian route a hiker slipped. Found him dead in the ravine. So careful, and no high mountains without winter gear!

Crampons won't touch the cross if a person has at least a little strength in their hands... :/

Today on Mangart via winter (variant 5a/5d Primorske). Winter gear needed already before fork and even if going Ita route. Conditions top, snow crisp. Clouds just below summit.

Is the road to Krma from Mojstrana normally drivable?

No problem for the little one even with lows... here are some pics...

Today on Mojstrovkas. South to little without peculiarities, Hanzova looks well covered in the last part. Also path to big already snowy (wet snow to knees too).

Not a clever choice to try this route with snow, especially if you don't know it....

Regarding bivouacs, Suringar was empty, Luca Vuerich fully occupied.

We walked a good 14 hours, without running. We had heavy backpacks though, as we carried sleeping bags and everything needed for bivouacking, 2.5l water, lots of food,... with our pace I think for Viš and golo we WOULDN'T need additional 3h, with "running backpacks" I'd dare say 15 hours total.

Yesterday/today did this route with a friend, or part of it. Started at 16:30 from Zajzera, to Montaž via Amalia, descended ladder and via Leva path towards Viš. Around 23:30 we stopped near Skrbin above Cjanerico and slept outdoors for a couple hours. At dawn continued, two hours to Luca Vuerich bivouac and via Ceria Merlone all the way to Skrbin Prednja Spranja (8:00). There we didn't feel like going further and descended past Mazzeni bivouac to Zajzera (had Viš and NE Gola descent in mind). The whole tour is really long so hats off to Dejan for 12.5h. Path without issues, fixed gear in perfect condition, only markings to Stuparich bivouac are very scarce and path not trodden, so hard to find in dark.
