On Friday lots of workers at Kredarica started interior renovation (sandblasting furniture, laminate... I saw new blankets too). Don't know when they'll finish and it'll be officially open, but on Saturday at least 20 slept up there. The cook is there already.

Thank God we can at least promote tourist steam trains from Maria Theresa's times.

.................

the first train ran on our territory on 2.6.1846.
Maria Theresa died on 29.11.1780.

I can't imagine how one could orient with paper map and compass in fog on snowy terrain (possibly at night)

.........

snow/fog/night: wait for improvement/bivouacking.

otherwise look with flashlight on paper map + compass has same effect as looking at smartphone. it's true that smartphone shows on e-map where you are. even truer is that this data is not accurate and can thus do more harm than good in such conditions.

That button phone is more practical? Hello?!

.................

I wrote that in the sense of using it for an emergency call.
pressing buttons blindly is easier than "swiping" blindly.

this "better practicality" applies only in the case of a possible emergency call.

the other thing, of course, is if you use the phone in the mountains for something else.

since I don't use it for anything else, for me it's better to have the one with buttons in the mountains.

I have a paper map, sometimes my own sketch, and a button phone. It's more effective for me to call for help (it works even blindly); I don't need a phone in the mountains for anything else, nor do I want one.

Of course, to each his own. I don't deny the joy to those on e-maps.

in the amended municipal decree it says that it's collected all year when the road is passable?
maybe they don't collect weekdays, weekends yes? just asking, I'd go tomorrow too.

I avoid our huts anyway. More because of the liquids than because of the WCs.

I wouldn't comment at all on comparisons with WCs in the desert.

capraibex

of course they do. this is a completely correct description of current conditions on Triglav in this time of year.

my opinion:

for someone going to Triglav for the first time, the path over Prag is ideal.
because if it breaks here already, it's clear that they are not ripe for Triglav, which can't be done without pegs and chains anyway.

if they manage the path over Prag, it's good training before continuing.
