Planina under Golica - Španov vrh

On Saturday morning crowds of hikers snake in columns towards the celebrated Golica, the view before me diverts me and I turn to the less crowded Španov vrh.
Daffodils below slowly wilting lose freshness, on the top still in buds, in between wonderful blooming beauty swaying in the gentle wind and warm sun ☼

Sv. Ivan - Plato Mjeseca - Na novih starih Mrgarih - Sedlo - Prekinjeno - Diviška - Lokva Diviška - Hlam - Plato Mjeseca - Sv. Ivan

Parking at the church of Sv. Ivan, lower down by the main road at the large parking lot near Baška is paid.
I really like their trail marking system, by colors depending on the direction of destination, which are nicely readable on neat panels.
Due to the desired sunrise, I branched off somewhere at Na novih starih Mrgarih from the wide marked trail and headed along a nicely visible path marked with cairns. The path becomes increasingly less noticeable, cairns disappear and before the ascent to Sedlo only smaller sheep trails are present,
which occasionally show up. I awaited the sunrise from behind Velebit located somewhere above Senj at the Prekinjeno area, where the most beautiful views opened towards Vela and Mali Luka and Prvić island. While basking in pleasant sun rays at breakfast I continued with new energy through pathless terrain with occasional help from sheep trails towards Diviška. The rocky area among grasses is locally quite sharp and jagged, caution required.
I descended along the marked trail (also marked with cairns) past Lokva Diviška and Hlam back to Plato Mjeseca towards the church of Sv. Ivan.

Heat-induced atmospheric diffusion these days prevented clarity and purity of views, which is also reflected in the photos, but it was all the more pleasant to jump into the sea afterwards cool
Definitely, the thought of seeing the landscape in winter time, when Velebit dresses in a snowy blanket is extremely inviting nasmeh

Martuljek mountains are the most crumbly (puzzle).
Descent to notch/couloir is abseil and lots of gravel
If really interested, recommend in team, also given your stated lack of alpine basics.

We gave opinion in one line, one older mountain fart wrote a whole essay in heavy blabbering.

Traversed/climbed 1 time...for such adventures recommend morning departure. Especially if first time, orientationally a bit "confused" towards VR and last part is most demanding.

Hello

I join the answer above.
Now there are weather observers up there on shifts, accommodation, hot meal, drinks, everything available throughout the winter.
They are friendly, no other peculiarities nasmeh

Thanks Mangrt nasmeh
Excellent info, and wonderful pics.

Please organize your own group for pensioner debates and on the topic "To Triglav" answer correctly the asked help questions.

During the week you can get a place to sleep, weekends booked in advance, they have a reservation book.
Best to call and ask what the situation is.

Skip such silly answers like the previous one wrote, waste of energy.

Kurja vas, not Krma... mežikanje
NSi isn't up to speed on plowing, even less present on these paths, so it's senseless to debate.
Sandra has already said plenty, read the previous page again.
Maemi21. 02. 2023 14:03:52
Obviously some short-haulers or long-tonguers have a sore spot somewhere, 'cause they're definitely not up there this time of year mežikanje

No panic, we'll gladly go to the huts from Kurja vas, Kovinarske koče or from Lesa velik nasmeh

Thanks to the friends for the pictures, Igor nasmeh
Those were good years with the road plowed all the way to the garages, few remember that mežikanje

Jasna - Kurji Peak

In these days the heat doesn't relent and the crowds in tourist spots don't either.
Where you meet no one, only the breath of nature, exactly there is the most beautiful world nasmeh
Path nicely visible in clearings, then steep through the scrub to the summit. You can see not many people go here and let it stay that way nasmeh

Suma sumarum...Svinjak, Kurji Peak, Kalvarije here and there...you struggle to reach the summit velik nasmeh

Hi Filip

The road from Radovna (Kurje vasi) is icy, you can drive to Kovinarska hut, but there are deep ruts in places.
Conditions super, frozen in the morning, softens during the day, crampons highly recommended, no danger, track nicely laid.
Descent report from Kredarica 17.3.

Weekend will be nice nasmeh
Maemi26. 01. 2022 16:03:49
I agree... he valued himself so much that he celebrated safely with his friends, trusted himself and them nasmeh
Maemi26. 01. 2022 11:20:51
What's better than being invited into the good company of mountain friends cool

Take care of yourselves and stay safe on the "paths" nasmeh

A week ago there was still hard snowpack with footprints. Yes, bypass it along the lower edge with caution, as one part is quite scree-covered.
