I notice that we mountaineers are usually quite cheerful folks, at least in the hills, and since it's always nice to laugh, a corner where we could share what makes us laugh might be handynasmeh. It can be video, audio, picture, personal experience, some funny story, anecdote and such, connected to hills in any way.

Sometimes I listen to Morning Chronicle and there are some bits on mountaineering. Attaching 2 recordings:
Safe mountaineering (Morning Chronicle)
Koreninc at mountain rescue (Morning Chronicle)

Hi.

I'm interested if you read anything on the topic of mountaineering and alpinism, and if you have any suggestion for a good book from this field?

I like literature that isn't strictly technical, but also describes experiences, sensations, feelings... it could be said that it's poetic mountaineeringnasmeh. I liked e.g. Pot (Nejc Zaplotnik), Biseri pod snegom and Zvezdnate noči (Dušan Jelinčič), Ni nemogočih poti (Tomaž Humar), Tomaž Humar (Bernadette McDonald)...

Thanks for the ideasmežikanje.

Has anyone recently gone to Ciprnik from Lake Jasna? What are the conditions, especially how much and where does the snow start? Is it icy?

Also possible, @djimuzlnasmeh.

Another quite real one (of course I didn't take the photo)mežikanje:

Nice flowers you "picked". Thanksnasmeh.

*piotr*, what flower is that and where does it grow? I really like it, but I haven't seen it anywhere yet.

The cable car to Kanin is also operating again now.

Berners are great dogs, Benča as I see is no exceptionnasmeh. Unfortunately I didn't know her personally, but I'd gladly read some adventure with her.

Why did she die? Age?

*en-goldy*, Jug probably already had almost suicidal views on life in the mountains, which this quote might suggest.

*turbo*, nicely writtenmežikanje.

*palček-plezalček*, this reminded me of the alpinist Danilo Cedilnik - Den. I would really like to see an exhibition of his mountain paintings sometime.

Yes, *miri*, sometimes it's really hard to put into words why we are so drawn to the mountains. I see that we have quite similar reasons... and one of them is love for naturenasmeh.

Surely it would be easier to say, as *gorolazka* already wrote, how and when we started going to the mountains?

For me the desire to go to the mountains occasionally appeared from my teenage years. Four years ago, through a web of circumstances, I started fulfilling that desire and since then I can't imagine life without themmežikanje.

Probably we have different reasons why we go to the mountains. George Mallory answered the question why he wants to climb Mount Everest: "Because it is there", Dušan Jelinčič wrote in his book "Zvezdnate noči": "I feel that I live, when just before dusk a gentle breeze blows, which came from afar and brought me the voices of soft colors, floral scent and the expanse of the world. Then my heart feels good and for a moment I feel happiness, which is beauty and love at the same time. And I know that here in the expanse of gray and mighty granite peaks I will feel it many times, that the wind will blow many times".

My answer to the question would be more similar to Jelinčič's. Simply in the hills, mountains I feel at home. Then I don't think about problems in the valley, I enjoy the peace, silence, fresh air, nature. In the hills I have experienced so much beauty, relaxation, insights...

What about you? Why do you go to the mountains?

Here, I just read "S prijatelji pod macesni" by Matjaž Kmecl and I must say it's pretty good. Light, interesting language, nicely described experiences and feelings, nice interweaving of stories, and I even laughed. In general, it's worth reading.

When I browsed a bit through the library and the web for the suggested books, I found that quite a few older books can be got on Bolha or in the Online Antiquarian (Bukvarna.net).

Wow, great how many suggestionsnasmeh. Thanks everyone. Well, that'll keep me busy for a whilemežikanje.

Hi.
Does anyone know what the current conditions are like on the path from Gozd to Tolsti vrh, through Ježa?
Thanks in advance.
