I got the idea for the trip from the guide Karavanke (Mušič, Habjan) 2007, which I bought recently. The ascent is rated alpine II, 200m.
Starting point: mine in Topla.

First along the path that leads to the transverse hunting trail, from where through dwarf pine to the scree, where the world itself invites you to enter the ridge. Špičasta peč is the peak on the left, the ridge on the right.
Along the gully to the ridge (good rock) and further into the wild world. High dwarf pine is tiring, some passages are more difficult, and on the right a precipice yawns. Across broken terrain, a bit also along the ridge crest, and again into dwarf pine. There was quite a lot of that today.
After four hours we reach Končnikov vrh 2110m. Both here for the first time, it's wonderful! The peak is truly beautiful, the views are magnificent! We lie on the grass for an hour, then down the knapovska path to the valley. Worth the effort.

Black and White Peak on the Dleskovska Plateau are special ones that do a good job shaking off hikers in those parts. They discreetly hide their charms among more famous, higher brothers and sisters. Both pathless, with lots of brushwood, they easily tire out and satisfy someone who dares to step into their world.

Today for the first time by bike from home to the top.
Route Nazarje - Gornji Grad - Črnivec - Kašna planina - Kranjska reber, and back.
There is no livestock on the pasture yet.

Olševa invited to a great trip today! For the ascent, we choose the hunting path along the southern slopes.
Snow remains on the northern side, the southern side is bare. Good luck!

A couple of years have passed, today back to the world below Pirčeva planina, but this time with the wild addition of Velika.
We park in Krivčevo, then from Žaga up the old path. The area here was changed by the last major flood, but the path is still well passable and traceable.
When higher up the path turns right upwards along the ridge of Krvava peč, we head onto it. Still steep, still demanding, still beautiful. The ridge isn't too long, but it's beautiful and fragrant. The rock is mostly good. Pleasurably we step onto the marked path below Pirčeva planina.
The day has just properly started, so we continue. Over Curlo and Kačjek, along the century-old path to Skledčka, from where steeply up towards Gradišče.....but that's a completely different story.

We warm up nicely to the linden tree, then hike the shortcut to the left that leads us to the ridge entrance.
Up steep chamois paths zigzag, as far right as possible, the world is wild, ancient.
With feet and hands we check the terrain's fragility so nothing surprises us, e.g. viper! The already demanding ascent turns awkward when less than two meters ahead I spot at least half a meter long and sausage-thick viper, coiled, raised in alert. No time for a pic! Visibly scared I quickly reverse and alert Janez! Still retreating as it slithers into a rock hole. The trip gets serious! We bypass the hole around, thought of more isn't pleasant! Not here! We reach the top without trouble.
After longer break we descend to overhangs and hides. Steep down, then up to blowhole where we sign the book. Varied!

I nicely avoided the northerly wind on the path past the abandoned mine, but it caught me on the saddle below Kopa. I approach the summit from the south side, abandoning the idea of ascent towards Varvanju.
I step onto the top of Kopa just for a photo, then into the shelter, and in the direction of the traverse, which was dry today. The strong wind and snow mists I luckily left above Bela, snow on the Martinj path was only by the chain for the little bridge.
I descend along the markers through the gully to the parking lot.
