Hi,

On the way towards Stanič hut in the direction from Krma or Konjsko saddle (from Rudno field) I noticed on the maps an unmarked path that connects that path from Konjsko saddle with the path from Krma before one reaches, according to the path description on hribi.net, some steeper part over rocks. I marked the path on the picture with a blue line.

On the maPZS map this path is drawn, but it is marked as an abandoned path. Can someone please tell me if they have ever walked this path and what it is like? What is the ground (scree, rocks?), steepness and if there is anything exposed anywhere? How is the traceability of this section of the path?

Thanks for the help

Given that this spring is probably fed from the lower lake I think the spring should have water (~3 weeks ago when I was there it still did). Otherwise you can get water in the toilet in the hut. I've been filling it there for a few years and it's all ok.

If I remember correctly, they mount this sign in winter and then driving is really prohibited. In spring at some point they usually remove this sign and then it's allowed to drive up to the cable car. If I remember correctly, a few weeks ago I saw a post that this sign has now already been removed for the summer season.

Hmm I haven't been there this year yet, but according to the website where it says "Križišče Vogar-Blato" and given that at least last year the macadam road higher up was quite narrow (when cars are parked sideways) and quite broken, I almost doubt a bus would drive all the way up.

I think that sometimes on hribi.net for the path Rudno polje --> Tosc it was even 4h 5min. But it seems to me that 3h 50min is closer to the real time, if you maintain a light pace.

Of course everything depends on how fast someone is able to walk. A few years ago, when I was slower, I needed just a little less than 4 hours to reach the top of Tosc on this path.... Now, a week ago when I was there, I needed 2h45min with some stopping and chatting. For the way back I needed a bit more than 2 hours.

If you're tight on time, to speed everything up I suggest that you don't take water with you for the whole way, but refill it additionally at that trough at Jezerca. Of course, if it's ok for you to drink water from the spring/tap. And of course, if that spring hasn't possibly dried up in the last week, because last week the water there was already flowing very slowly.

Thanks, but I'd rather find out from someone here on the forum who has actually recently gone to the top of Stenar, because in the past they've already given me incorrect/incomplete information in the huts a couple of times. But if I don't find out anything new on this forum, of course I'll call the hut nasmeh

haha velik nasmeh I'll try to go up before December velik nasmeh

I'm mainly interested if I can go this weekend if there's no more snow on the path or should I rather wait another 2 weeks so that some patches melt that others potentially encountered in the last days

Thank you nasmeh From this picture that traverse to the right across the scree before that first rock jump still looks snowy to me.

Has the situation changed in the last almost 2 weeks, if anyone has some more up-to-date information?

I would namely like to go on this route only when it is surely completely bare, so that I don't have to deal with some annoying traverses on snow.

Hi,
Has anyone been to Stenar (from Zadnjica) recently and can tell me if the path is already completely dry?

On the camera from Pogačnik's home I see that around the scree below Stenar, which the path crosses, there is still some patch of snow, but I don't know exactly if this snow is right on the path or just next to it.

Thanks for the information.

Super, thank you very much nasmeh

Hi,

Is the path from Krma to Kredarica (only to Kredarica, not further to Triglav) already completely dry? Or are there still some patches of snow somewhere that need to be crossed or bypassed?

Besides that, I'm also wondering if the water from those troughs around Prgarca is drinkable? Usually I drink water from such springs in the hills without any problem, but here I know that there is livestock around and I'd rather check if others drink there or if it's better to carry all the water with me.

Thanks nasmeh

As I saw the locations of these barriers last year, I would say that the parking lot in Zadnjica is outside the barriers.

The turnoff towards the Soča spring and Flora, I think is still before you reach the exit barriers on the Primorska side... so according to my logic, for the Soča spring they will treat you the same as if you park at the top of Vršič. I would also say that the same applies to the Russian Cross mrk pogled

But it's just weird how this will work with the counting of limited parking spaces on Vršič where they are supposed to block the entry barrier for parking when too many cars are already parked at the top of Vršič... What if you don't intend to park on Vršič at all and want to go to Flora? They will then prevent you from parking at Flora because there are too many cars at the top of Vršič zmeden

But please, can someone correct me if I misinterpreted what they intend to do with the other parking lots that are not at the top of Vršič.
