So, notice to all who are heading to Vodnikov dom these days. On the path between Studorski preval and Vodnikov dom there is a large landslide about halfway along the path. Caution and will are needed and it can be overcome. We hope the rocks will be removed as soon as possible.

Yesterday we headed to Debela peč on a nice sunny morning. Our path started at planina Javornik, from where we went towards Blejska koča and further to Debela peč. The path to Blejska koča is well-trodden, further towards Debela peč a bit less so, in places it was still sinking nicely, but crampons or ice axe were not needed. From the top there was a nice view of all surrounding peaks, even Snežnik was visible in the distance. Soon a crowd gathered on the top, we, still rested, decided also for the ascent to Brda, where judging by the troddenness not many hikers yet. The descent to Blejska koča was quite an adventure, as the snow on the south side was soft and sinking in places even to the waist, which took us lots of time. In short, the day was wonderful and it would be a shame not to spend it in the mountains.

Our Dalmatian also goes everywhere with us, though we avoid the most crowded paths; as for wildlife and such, there are no problems, he fears nothing. He has special boots for the mountains, so his paws don't freeze in winter, sharp stones don't cut them in summer.

On the way to Dom Okreselj there is no snow so you can hike there.

You have to leave the car already quite below at the parking lot, except with an off-roader you get to the junction where the path to Potoška planina leads; further it's not plowed. After the last snow it doesn't look like there have been many visitors, as there aren't many tracks, and avalanche danger exists, as some have already been triggered somewhere; especially on the way back you need to watch out, because under the soft snow there's ice and you can slip and land several meters lower; crampons mandatory.

On New Year's Eve sunny morning we set off to Stol. Weather divine, despite minus a couple degrees due to sun no cold was felt. Hikers only a sample, later we found out why - sinking soft snow. But despite all we managed to reach the top, where it was blowing hard, but satisfaction at the view of surrounding peaks was so much greater.

Please tell me the best circular route to visit all Triglav Lakes, same start and end point, time up to 4 days with some summit bagged. And no climbing in between of course, since dog is coming along. Thanks.

There is no warning sign anywhere before the landslide from either side. As for publications on the net, some of us don't browse all sites, and there was no warning on this site. It was published only after I wrote the warning on this site myself.

It would be nice if this notice was also somewhere else besides just the PZS site, since we don't check that site for every path to the mountains. We crossed the tunnel anyway, like some others, some turned back before it and got angry because there was no prior warning.
We should warn about such things also at starting points with signs, not just on websites.

Has anyone been up there recently? How far by car? What about avalanches?
spoty12. 03. 2008 11:17:20
We were there on 1.1.2008 and the stamp was still there.
spoty11. 03. 2008 21:28:18
The stamp on Slemenova Špica is not on the summit but a few dozen meters lower, where it's also marked on the tree.

I also have Asolo Power Matic 400 and they are really super. Bought similar from Meindl too, but last doesn't fit me, so now in closet. All hiking boots (unless bought in Lidl, Hofer, Spar) are quality, depends on individual which suit best. That's why great that Annapurna store lends boots for tryout, as putting on feet you can't be sure ok, find out on first tour and ouch if not right.

How much time did you spend walking?
spoty14. 02. 2008 11:09:37
True mountaineers when come to store exactly know what to buy, as for brands in all mountain gear stores you get quality brands, buy of course to your pocket and purpose suitable. But in every store there's seller there just for salary so best inform on net. And also not necessary that recognized and expensive brand is best, best is what you feel comfortable in.

You guest who wrote so long, it looks like you have no clue. The forest owner MUST clear the logs from the path, and not because of hikers and cyclists, but already because of the Forests Act, where it's clearly stated what the path must be like regardless of whether you're the owner of the path and forest. Not to mention that with those logs across the path he violates other laws too. So I would report him to the authorities, since the owner, if the path is marked, allowed it himself with his permission, possibly even got compensation, and now mocks hikers.

I'm wondering if anyone has gone recently to Ojstrica from the Podvežak pasture. What are the conditions? Is it OK to go or not?
