With Iztok we went today on skis via Zelenica to Triangle. The ski slope is groomed only partially in the middle section, because a large avalanche released from the slope of Begunjščica and left a huge amount of debris there, which groomers are now arranging. From the hut to the top of Triangle there's a nice track for walkers, so go boldly. P.S. But head to Ljubelj early, because on return it was already full of cars by late morning. LP Andrej

We started the trail to Smrekovec with the family at Atelsko sedlo and climbed to the summit via Dom na Smrekovcu. The path is wonderful, easy, and especially panoramic from the top. Today there was a great view far around, only the conditions on the summit were quite wintery, as a cold wind was blowing strongly. There was just enough snow on the path for fun playing in it. The path was frozen in shady spots in the afternoon, but it was manageable, despite a few falls by our kids. Definitely recommend for a trip with our youngsters. Best regards Andrej

Dušan and I also climbed to Svačica today on the descent from Stol and Krkotnik and unlike Heinz met quite a few Slovenians up there, as everyone was looking for the last sun rays before the announced weather deterioration. Very nice and easy path with wonderful views. Best, Andrej

Today Borut and I climbed from Črni kal to the top of Blegoš via the direct path. The path is trodden, good steps have been made, only gaiters and poles needed. If we had been a bit earlier, we would have enjoyed even better views on surrounding peaks, but conditions changed quickly. We descended to the hut and by marked path to road, then along it to start. Two small avalanches on road, no trouble. LP Andrej

Sorry, of course it's the fascinating view of Jalovec, not Triglav !!! Namely, I had the Očak forum open and a "printer's devil" happened. I hope no one mixes it up. LP Andrej

I'd just add Slemenova špica, from where for many the "most beautiful" view of Očak. Quite a few scenes were shot there too. LP Andrej

Today with the group we skied up from Tamar to the top of Jalovec Couloir. Trail for hikers done, steps very good, conditions in the couloir with winter gear fine. Towards the top a trio of Croats and one Slovene went up, no comments heard as we skied down earlier. Hope someone writes more on the upper ascent part. Descent in couloir excellent, middle some crust, bottom deep powder. Sun and nice weather spiced it up. Tobi, Iztok, Janez, Peter and I enjoyed it. LP Andrej

Afriški Janez, is there some formula for calculating wind chill. If you have some data or link to it, I'd appreciate it. LP Andrej

Yes, conditions were very changeable. Whoever was up there today has, I think, well tasted the omnipotence of Big Snežnik. LP Andrej

Today Janez, Peter and I went from Sviščaki to Big Snežnik on skis. Up to the turning point the path was in light snowfall, with individual drifts from 5 to almost 50 cm of wind-blown snow along the path, which posed no problems for the ascent. From the turning point on, Snežnik showed true winter conditions, strong wind (the caretaker said wind chill on top -40°C), visibility sometimes cca 100 m, sometimes 5 meters. Thank God, Draga Karolina shelter was open today, where we warmed up with hot tea. The descent to the turning point was orientationally quite demanding, from there to Sviščaki the descent was real pleasure for me. The path is frozen, so no problems for hikers. Track is made. Today Franci and I went to Zelenica and then towards Suho ruševje, but we abandoned the plan because there were places with windblown or newly fallen snow up to 30 cm (or even more). Instead we went to the hut at the source of Završnica and then did a loop towards Šija saddle, admired Srednji vrh and back to Zelenica summit. From there we went up the road to Triangle summit. It was foggy in the morning at the top, poor visibility. Descent to Zelenica on fresh powder was really enjoyable, then down the nicely groomed ski slope to Ljubelj. LP Andrej

Some pics from today's ski touring descent on Dovška Baba. Nice weather and a bit of light wind made our day much nicer. Conditions for ascent excellent, both with skis and on foot. LP Andrej

Since we're on Pohorje; summer or winter, one of the nicest, especially with kids! LP Andrej
