After the penultimate tour on crowded Vršič, I finally cycled on less crowded terrain.
Started in Krnica behind Radovna bridge and still in the cool reached Kovinarska koča, where there were already quite a few tourists. Surrounding mountains fantastic, peace and pristine nature and a bit cooler than Radovna. Then over Kosmačev pass in descent at 72km/h quickly reached Mojstrana. There checked the new Kofler sports and some plot, then a bit towards Jesenice pool. Among road steel shavings got a tire puncture, which I quickly fixed. Heat in the afternoon was already biting, so barely dragged over Kočna saddle back to start, approx. 52km around Mežakla. Nice, peaceful, varied, undemanding MTB tour, recommend

It's been a long time since I was up on the Škofja Loka viewpoint with a bike, where there's no sin.
I start from home to warm up a bit before the climbs, past Breznice, the saddle in Podlubnik, some on the forest road and a bit on the rocky path to the top on foot.
Lubnik is a less visited peak than Jošt, but an exceptional viewpoint that at this altitude in the shade cools a bit despite the heat. I drink Radler, soak in the views, then on the northern singletrack via Tomaž above Praprotno to Selška Valley, at the end 72km/h. From there Škofja Loka is already quite close. The end of the tour was spiced by headwind with riding to 20km/h, prev.64km, cheers!

In Thursday's high-altitude window of clear weather I headed to Struska starting below at Pristava.
First some snow dust on hay meadows, in Pusti rovt 20cm wind-scattered snow, at 1500m another 20cm, at Pl Svecica around 60cm in drifts. Sun barely broke through clouds at times with ball silhouette, cold with moisture cut to the bone. Since adult Grivel snowshoes failed, snow deeper and heavier to walk, I turned back. Trip just right for conditioning before winter joys, cheers

In good weather even nicer

Today was more than suitable for visiting the mountains.
I start at Matizovec, where there is a few cm of snow, which thickens to Kofce to over 10 cm, križ area blown, above 1600 m significantly thicker with old base below. For Veliki vrh now better small crampons, quite blown. For Kofce gora plenty of snow in gully, nice ascent on virgin snow. On top cold NE wind, not really warm. To Veliki vrh climbers with crampons and one hiker succeeded, afternoon a couple. Then martini time at Plansarija Kofce shelter with sunbathing. Nice pre-winter tour no big crowds, cheers

Yesterday's less Zofkin day I used for wonderful ski touring on Zg Ravni.
Path from cable car less suitable esp for tourers due to fallen spruces. Higher fresh green larches sparkle between sun and distant snowfields. Snow ends a bit before Czech Hut, put on skis there all way to first slope Sp Ravni. Due to irregular slipping between crusts of south snow, strap skis and carry to shoulder Zg Ravni. There again on smoother all to below wall with skis. Set up stance and already nice carving on up to 5cm softened joy, below still hard snow. Sp Ravni also excellent for skiing to tongue at marked path. At hut watched by German family vacationing 7 days at Jezersko, also English family. Snow on Zg Ravni 70cm and more, below will hold at least good week. On P Ravenske Kočne met also Lasko legend Dav testing new skis. Perfect day in always beautiful Jezersko ambience.

Yesterday's ascent to Nanos from Podnanos was quite right because of the koprena, and it's always cool up there because of the wind.
Already at the start I feel the Mediterranean air that accompanied me the whole way.The famous mountain road winds in long zigzags up through the rock step of the Nanos plateau all the way to Vrata 800m, at Sembijska bajta, there it cools a bit more.Next the well-known path winds with solid ascents to the hosta, where I'm already close to Vojkova koča na Nanosu, in 2.5h, locals congratulated.On the top it was pulling quite strongly, so I watched well on the descent towards Razdrtem, well for locals a bit more breath.In continuation quick descent and after some 4km to Abrama to the bear friend.Snow in winter in drifts a couple of meters, which only melted there a few weeks ago.At Easter tourists were still skiing behind the farm.The snow line was down at the tunnel, they say, as if cut off. Local cuisine is invaluable here, lots of people, so plates continuously go from the kitchen to the tables, prices not high yet for this quality.The bear is already 22 years old and holds up well on the home bora.At least another 10-15 years will live, they say at Abrama.Joy is at home here too, the inner, real one.Descent is always fast, as I easily overtook all vehicles, just watch out for rocks from the walls on the road, total approx. 40km, 1200m elev., cheers!
