Hi. I have Leki for about 7 years and I use them mostly on very tough hikes and in winter. Descent to the valley is mostly almost running pace and poles are always a huge help and have saved me from slips several times and really serve their purpose. But once it happened to me that I came too fast from snow to mud and while preventing the slip the lower part of the pole bent. I nicely called the importer told him what I need and in a couple days I already got the bent pole part by mail.

You also have to see such a picture. To remind you that caution is needed in mountains.
Didn't survive.

I needed jumar and figure-eight.
60m rope is also needed.
At the necessary places there is belay for rope at descent.
But extreme caution is needed when choosing barely noticeable paths, because it can quickly happen that you go from dangerous area to very dangerous area.

Today on Sunday 3.1. Viševnik was very nicely visited. The biggest factor was fantastic weather.
For ski tourers conditions a bit better but not yet real ski touring. Most of them went up to Veliki Draški vrh.
Still need great caution on the section 30m below the summit. Recommend crampons.
Nice mountain greeting.

I also have the desire to go up if the weather conditions were solid.

The most important is that everyone thinks for themselves: how much they move, if they're already afraid of heights on a balcony in some block, and if they personally want it and not just because almost everyone goes up, so I have to go too.
Personally, I did my first tour ever in the mountains, alone and in 1 day right to Triglav. And this tour will stay in my eternal memory, how much I enjoyed and how nice it was.
Every year I go a couple of short times to our Triglav, and now mostly I take someone up and also take care of their safety.
This year I might have a harder time finding time to climb up, because I had a couple of much more demanding tours (Matterhorn), and I still have Mont Blanc to do in the first days of September. But I already have a couple of arrangements to guide someone to some mountain. And I do it for good will and without any payment (maybe tea in the hut).
And this year it's a bit harder to do a 2-day tour to Triglav (for the weekend) without timely reservation for a bed.

That's not it. I mean more like a photo of a paper map or a digital one.

UROS1 yes with Ormož guys we're going to Zermatt tomorrow 30.7. 31 probably ascent to little Matterhorn and next day to Matterhorn. But all depends on the weather.

I'm interested if anyone has a pic with route map or something similar. And if they'd send it to me. Thanks.
Marco-Slo29. 07. 2009 15:51:13
When are you setting off then?
We're going namely on 30.7.09.
Marco-Slo8. 05. 2009 18:58:24
With snowshoes you can get there.
But tomorrow has a slightly worse forecast.
Maybe Sunday better.

I'm not an athlete. But this year I started hiking full-on in the mountains, this was already the 24th tour this year.
I almost always hike in short sleeves. And that picture when it's minus, I was already dressed.
When I reach the top I get dressed in a couple of minutes. Why get used here to being fully dressed, what would I do there when it's like -30?
But I'm interested in some group tour with someone.
Regards.

On 26.4 I just went and really don't regret going.
Conditions were also bad, cloudy and quite strong wind, it took away 2 gloves and a hiking pole from one or two. But I felt really fantastic. 2.5h ascent and 1h back to the valley.
Good that I went alone and had my pace. As one said when I overtook them, if that one behind is on rocket power.
Snow is just right, even the new one. A bit melting at the bottom, last part frozen. For the last part recommend crampons.
Attaching some pics.
Best regards.

I went up from Valvazor on 25.4 and had even worse conditions. Very foggy. Visibility on the part from the bench onwards where you turn right and go straight up the hill was sometimes less than 10m. Due to fresh snow no track, so I just went by feel.
When approaching the top, a bit of clarity came.
Satisfied with this tour.
Used snowshoes for ascent. For descent, crampons.
Attaching a few pics.
Cheers.

I was on Stol today, and there were no problems with new snow.
But I don't know how it is here.
