There's plenty written about Slavnik on other pages, so I just invite all young and not-so-young hikers to wonderful Slavnik, from where there was really a nice view in all directions of the sky today. And no worries, the path is easy (we did the path from Podgorje) and definitely suitable for a family trip even with the youngest. LP Andrej

Yesterday we used the day with the family for an excursion to Ajdna and mysterious exploration of the ancient settlement below its summit. The description of the path is on this portal, the path is nicely secured, there were no difficulties on the path (on the easy path). It is worth going up, as Ajdna is truly a nice viewpoint. As mosovnik already wrote to you, something similar, and they also cut them nicely to size for you. They've done it twice for me already and I'm satisfied. LP Andrej

Use the road that leads to the monument from the main road higher up before Rudno polje. The mentioned road is nicely plowed and passable, especially it's shorter to the starting point. LP Andrej

I myself attended the mentioned course a few years ago organized by GRS Ljubljana and can only give positive reviews. Whoever hasn't attended a similar course yet, I strongly recommend. The guys are top, you learn everything you want and as the geologist said, you even try practically. Take advantage! Regards Andrej

Today with colleague once more headed to Blegoš, this time from the valley i.e. Davča-Potok junction. We gained over 1000m elevation, hut open and invites to excellent cracklings. For ascent we used the track made by predecessors, very grateful for it. Top as whole week fog and wind making drifts. New dry snow ca 10 cm. Still recommend snowshoes or skis for ascent, but path to hut from Žetina already broken by most persistent walkers. About enjoying fresh powder better not talk, imagine what pleasure 1000m descent is. LP Andrej

If you're heading to Porezen or Blegoš, at least go with snowshoes, if not skis. Today another 10 cm snow fell up there, which greatly complicates the ascent, also blowing a nice wind making drifts. If more of you, you'll manage for sure. LP Andrej

Above the hut I stuck the pole into the snow and it sank nicely over a meter, didn't reach the ground.

Data from the meteo station at Martinj vrh shows snow a bit over 90 cm, higher of course more. Given snow forecast for tonight and tomorrow again, there will be even more over the weekend. LP Andrej

If Monday's trip to Blegoš was for fitness, today's was for the soul. In the morning, my colleague from Žetina and I broke the track along the road to the hut and to the very top (hand on heart, he did it, I diligently followed...). The night snowfall deposited another 20 cm of dry snow and you can imagine what poetry "swimming" down to the valley on dry powder was.

Don't set out on the path without skis or snowshoes, there's simply too much snow for trudging.

Since the weather was foggy again, the camera stayed nicely in the car. Next time. LP Andrej

Maybe Velika Koroška Baba? LP Andrej

The ascent to Blegoš today in the morning passed in quite "pleasant" gusts and accompanied by quite strong snowfall. Visibility on the path kept changing (about 50-100m). In the forest there's quite a bit of new snow (around 50 cm), which allows easy skiing if you have very floaty skis on your feet (I unfortunately don't have them yet, so it's much harder). The top of Blegoš is windblown almost to the ground, drifts in some forest parts are quite high (over a meter too).

Blegoš needs one more such shipment of snow on today's base, then the conditions will be as they should be.

Due to fog and snowfall, I didn't take photos today, as the camera stayed in the backpack. LP Andrej

As for the description itself and path starting point, Rok has already described everything nicely to you. Yesterday the road past Pristava hut was plowed towards weekend settlement, towards Planina pod Golico and Križovec only a few hundred meters more, where the last vehicle with chains gave up. Further towards Križovec only old snow-covered track of off-road vehicle. We at first junction of Križovec-Pusti Rovt path went straight or slightly east, then on steep path to Pusti Rovt, where path joins the one from Križovec. LP Andrej

Today's start of our tour began at Pristava hut on Javornik Rovt. Due to my night shift we started the tour a bit later, for which we were rewarded in the lower part of the path with sunshine and nice warm weather. Today we were very lucky, as ahead of us a trio of ski tourers had already pulled a track towards Belska Planina on yesterday's traces of Mitja (caretaker of the pasture community hut). The ascent itself through the forest to Pusti Rovt went in the softness of fresh snow, but there was less than expected (about 15-20cm). At Pusti Rovt disappointment followed, as on wind-blown parts practically no snow, only in small drifts enough so it didn't squeak too much. Soon we were on the new road above the rovt, along which we ascended gently to Belska Planina. At the planina we refreshed in the hut with good company, chatted and decided not to go to Struska summit, because mists started appearing from SE and conditions for ascent would be poor (we'll return with better weather and conditions). Already in the afternoon we descended the ascent path, snow was very slow, but for opening new ski touring season more than satisfied.
Hut open all weekends through winter until May, caretaker Mitja warmly invites all. LP Andrej

I have already ordered twice from Hans, the guy is very friendly, accommodating, the skis arrived home at the agreed time and I am a very satisfied user. I will buy more from him. For more info send me PM. Regards Andrej

Ksena, did you see me when I waved greeting to you from neighboring Grintovec? LP Andrej
