My opinion - the climbing path to V. Baba is very nice, I wouldn't agree that just anyone knows how to drill pegs straight everywhere. The path to the other side towards Jenkova planina is not particularly demanding, much easier than the path over Dolgi hrbet. Some caution and care is never out of place anywhere. Good luck and safe in the mountains.

Here I would like to thank Katja87, your pictures convinced me and my husband to go to Viš via A.Goitan path. The pictures radiate good mood and enjoyment. If I relied on some previous description, it would hardly convince me to go on this wonderful journey on ledges and climbing steep chimney... Everyone sees mountains differently, something hard for one is child's play for another. Someone challenges himself and the mountain... Another goes wisely and slowly. Thanks again, I recommend to everyone not afraid of heights, who is used to movement and climbing. Just not for the first tour.

After a few months' break I opened this forum again and it's clear right away why I don't use it often anymore - some boast all the time, others belittle those who use belay devices, others wouldn't hammer any piton in the rock lest someone else gets up there... What's wrong with us, people?! Let's have some tolerance and culture towards each other!!! Mountains aren't anyone's property, mountains will stand there long after we're gone... So - don't quarrel about everything and everyone, let the forum be a place where we who need info on conditions get it. Leave each other freedom for mountaineering, everyone go according to their abilities and capabilities...

Why shouldn't mountains be accessible to everyone who goes there??

Yesterday we were at planina Dovška rožca and then on to Dovški babi, owner was already there. By car to first barrier, which is of course closed. Road still pretty good, but towards end there's quite a big pothole to watch out for if you want to drive further.

Does anyone know perhaps what the path through Žrelo to Storžič is like? I'm mainly interested if there's still any snow? Thanks for the reply

We all make "crowds" when we head to the mountains. I don't like crowds either, but I always tell myself it's right that others go to the mountains too. Better than shopping centers, where crowds don't bother anyone.

Beautiful autumn hike to Kal Ridge invites, although today it's anything but inviting. The day before snow fell, my friend and I headed to this beautiful mountain. We started at Gospinca to the hut at Krvavec, then to the saddle and down towards Dolga njiva. This part of the path drags, as it constantly descends on slippery rocks and scree. At the shepherd's hut we turned slightly right to the newer hut, then up to the saddle where the path from Korena joins from the right. Another 1.15 hours and we were at the top. Views open already at the saddle - to beautiful Kamniške and Savinjske Alpe, at the top wonderful views all around. Just in time we caught all views around, because fog was rolling over Zvoh, slowly but persistently covering the views. We headed back to the saddle and towards Vrh Korena, down over Ježa to Veliki Zvoh and back to Gospinca. Nice hike, a bit long, but rewarded with really beautiful views of our mountains. Recommended!

Some go to the sea and laze for 14 days, then they run out of vacation. We spend our vacation like this during the weekdays on beautiful mountains....

Aljoša1, my start was at Vršič, left of the path to Mojstrovka. We started with my husband at 7:05 from the parking lot below Tičarjev dom, the path descends quite a bit almost 200m, then we reached a junction where right is the path over Mali kot (3.5 hours), left to Špiček (1:15 hours). We decided on Mali kot to the wall of Goličica, then there's a nice climbing section (too short in my opinion), too long over scree, then ascent over nice rocks of Jalovec and along the ridge to the summit. Probably can't compare to mountain runners, I like to enjoy in the mountains, take photos and admire the mountains, so we took 4.5 hours to the summit, 1 hour on top, then quite some time to Zavetišče pod Špičko (2 hours), then some time in the hut, then another 3 hours to Vršič. Total 11 hours.

I went for one day. Have to admit, tough, but you can still get back nicely before dark. At least be at the start at 7, with all stops, photos and obligatory one-hour summit admiration you can return by six pm. At the hut wonderful hosts serve the best barley soup under the sun. All praise for neatness and friendliness. But they actually head home to the valley on Sunday after noon.

Yesterday I made it to Jalovec summit. What can I say? Magnificent mountain, demanding and tiring ascent rewarded at top with great views. Those who've been up know what I mean. No wonder Mr Kugy still admires it. Shelter under Špica open only till Sunday. Lp
