Last extended weekend my friend and I used for a 3-day hike in Karavanke. For warming up we started from Ljubelj towards Preval; from there to Roblek, from Roblek to Zelenica. From Zelenica directly to Stol first very nice path, but towards end gets more demanding (and end not in sight)... Anyway towards evening with a family from Styria we arrived at Prešeren hut. View towards Bled took breath, really very nice, though windy and quite cold.
In the hut they took good care of us and in the morning we headed to Golica. In the afternoon we arrived at hut below Golica and found out to Dovje still 6 hours!!! So we took "free afternoon" and only next day continued. Path from Golica to Dovje partly poorly marked, otherwise nice and not too strenuous. After conquering Dovška Baba, we started descending to valley (poor marks!!!). At Dovje we paid homage to Great Slovene, Jakob Aljaž. Let me mention that most of the path we did is named after him.
We spent 3 wonderful days, gaze always stopping at "Zlatorog Kingdom", our next goal. Nice mountaineer's greeting!!!
