I'm a local, I've traversed the ridge multiple times too, so precisely because of that I can speak and claim you're wrong.
In the attachment on the picture I've marked with red the direction of your walk when you left the marked path towards Turn to the ridge. With green the Macesje ridge is marked, with purple say the path you should do if you wanted to cross Ostrv and Macesje.
With yellow I've marked the variant where along a poorly trodden path that a good eye can follow nicely all the time, we descend directly from the ridge towards Tegoška planina.

First, the use of German names for Slovenian peaks bothered me. That really annoys me.
But when I read more closely and looked at the pictures, I realize you didn't cross Macesje, nor were you on it.
You actually walked part of the Košuta ridge from Užnik to Škrbina. You reached the ridge between Užnik and Macesje. Maybe Perilnik is there. You crossed Macesje below the ridge when you left the marked path towards Turn and turned left below the Macesje ridge. The ridge is clearly visible on your picture no. 15, the peak on picture 18 or it's a bit further back.
The most elegant would be to climb to the Košutnikov Turn saddle and then cross Ostrv. That way you'd reach the Macesje peak too. But it's already a more technically demanding path, secured with cables too.

Before such bickering, better read the Hiking Trails Act and whose authority is supervision over it.
The response of inspection services is known in advance, namely that in this case it's not a hiking trail since it's not marked anywhere, but pathless terrain. No marking section takes care of such paths (pathless), so it's in no one's care and no one should take offense.
