I've been tempted by ski touring for a long time and since my classic ski boots are due for replacement I'm thinking of buying touring boots (Nordica TR 12), but I'm wondering if they're also suitable for regular skiing on groomed slopes? What are your experiences? Best, Matej

I have Maindel hiking boots in the 150 euro price range. I'm very satisfied with them, but the soles need replacing. Does anyone have advice on where, how and for how much they can be replaced and what experiences you have with replacement? Matej

Super. I'm also planning the path in opposite direction from Struška to Vajnež. On pics 13 and 14 are there fixed cables? What's that section like? Supposedly some plane wreck remains on the path, did you notice them? I wish you a nice hiking weekend

Yesterday 18.5. did the tour, from Kriška Planina via Planina Koren to Kompotelo, Vrh Korena, Kal Ridge, then return past Planina Dolga Njiva, at the end a quick jump to Zvoh and past the hotel back to Kriška Planina. Total about 1300 m. Snow only higher from Vrh Korena towards Kal Ridge here and there as patches, no problems, no equipment needed.

Hi, has anyone been to Kal Ridge recently? Variant via Planina Koren or Zvoh or Dolga Njiva from Kriška Planina. Mainly interested in how much snow, (equipment)?

Thanks Tadej. Otherwise I wanted, due to nostalgia for the times when we skied here, to climb to the top along the former flatter or steeper ski slope, but your suggestion is more than welcome.

Hotunjski vrh is one of the end stations of the former ski resort. Has anyone managed to reach the top or the end of the only chairlift, Berjance? I myself two years ago tried to go along the former right, gentler slope past the farm, but further on the former ski slope the owner with threats to set the dog on me etc. prevented me from continuing the path.

Is there still some snow below the ridge and then toward the top of MM? Thanks and regards

Also 31.10.2011 weather cloudless and magnificent views, pure enjoyment. As for the bivouac, condition no better than last year, unfortunately. Tour started and ended at Urbas, on path only patches of snow here and there (from bivouac on), road to spring surprisingly good.

Given that I'm the one on the picture, authorship is shared, right?

Hi. Has anyone maybe recently done a circular tour Kanin-Rombon-Bovec or reverse? I'm interested in snow conditions at key spots:
Gully before paths from Bovec or Kluž join; Exposed part under summit from Kanin direction
