#Hribolaznik, I don't know or I can't imagine how a watch could hinder you on harder ascents. I have mine on my wrist 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and if it hinders me somewhere, it hinders me more when sleeping than when walking, climbing, etc. But you're right, the watch is not for some orientation. If it's for anything, it's more for determining it, as well as monitoring other information that interests the user.

I think both down jackets (goose or synthetic) will warm you equally. Difference is only in weight (goose is lighter) and moisture (goose absorbs it sooner).
I'd recommend a Polartec® Alpha variant down jacket, as it allows good breathability while maintaining temperature. You can read more here. Currently, or at least as far as I know, Millet and Patagonia have this variant. If others do, I don't know.

Recently got Mammut Mercury Advanced High II GTX and fully satisfied with them. Surprised me mainly with soft sole, stability and of course price (bought them discounted for only 125€).

Those who don't use the devices and base only on forums etc. cannot know how the device really behaves in certain situations. You give only unrealistic opinions, which unfortunately are not based on your own experiences.
For me personally Fenix3 is currently the best watch both for running and for hiking/mountaineering. Before it I tested quite a few other watches, but unfortunately currently they cannot compete with F3. It is true that every thing (in this case watch) has its advantages and disadvantages. Every thing is suited to someone, not to others. It has always been like that and always will be.
#SamoK: Such a watch is already waiting for you in the store. You just have to find the right store!

Does anyone have La Sportiva CORE GTX SURROUND summer shoes?
I'm interested in how satisfied you are with them (material durability, sole, ...). How about softness on descents? How do they perform on wet terrain, ...?

Thanks in advance nasmeh

#mkonci, I had a similar problem, so I got something comparable to a DSLR. I got Sony DSC RX 100 M3 and it's top-notch. It makes great pictures in all conditions. Sure the price is accordingly high, but if you're a photo freak and care about quality, it's no problem.

One hundred mad, one hundred wonders...
VanSims, first time I hear that if the hut is "property" of PZS, dogs can't enter. Is that written in some "rulebook"? Well, otherwise Lisca is not property of PZS, but municipality and the inspector was from the state.
But I think it depends on the keeper/tenant whether they decide to allow dogs entry to the hut or not. If they decide no, it's done (as already said) with a sign on the door, if not, then otherwise.
I notice there are always fewer "dogs entry forbidden" signs on doors of pubs, shops, ... etc. And I welcome that. Animal is a living being and who doesn't like animals, doesn't like people!

Bernard, one thing is allowing dog entry to "pub" where it can rest by the table and keep "company" to its owner, another is it running around the kitchen etc. which of course mustn't, because there's food there... etc.

Otherwise, I have two dogs at home and both sleep with us on the bed as well as sofa. Am I thus uneducated owner or animal lover providing them comfort, love, play, ...?

Ada, sorry you're mistaken. No regulation says dogs can't be in mountain huts, restaurants etc.. It only says that if food is served, you must get permission from every guest in the room that they agree to dog's presence.
At ours, on Lisca dogs are welcome in entrance area as well as at bar, but no entry to dining room! We had inspection already because of that, since little fluffies got up someone's nose, but sadly or luckily didn't get what he wanted. Inspector just said what I wrote above, drank coffee and left nasmeh

#1mitjas.. please don't mislead people. If it were really like that, what about the avalanche-prone section under Kalvarija? So please..
True, the ascent to Kredarica from Krma side in winter is the most frequented and recommended, but it's still not a walk in the park or completely safe and anyone can decide for it!

Hello,
recently I was in the same dilemma, but I decided for the Fenix2.. My experiences with it:
1. I already have quite a few Garmin things and can connect them nicely among themselves
2. via bluetooth I can sync the watch with the phone
3. The GPS signal is found in a couple of seconds
4. on a tour where the watch is non-stop connected to satellite or searching for it, the battery lasts about 12h
5. I like the ABC variant (compass, barometer and thermometer)
6. possibility to load map (adapted for watch)
7. ... personally fully great nasmeh

Mmmm maybe it would be good if the moderator moved this thread somewhere else.. e.g. under general?

"........Last two challenges I did well. But I'd like to say the following. People talk too much about records that aren't important at all, more important are stories in the background. Especially hanging out with sports friends who join even if invited last day before departure. That means more than records and I know it'll stay so. To all who care more to improve others' time I say that's not my way. My joy is competing with self and breaking my plan records I think I can run. If simultaneously I break all record it's irrelevant. I'm happy for every additional feat despite injuries. Happy for everyone tackling similar because I know how to achieve self-set goals especially surprising self positively....."

So others could report it he must have told them, and also "boasted" he broke record or in what time he ran.. So he doesn't run for himself only! Maybe true he doesn't post achievements on hribi.net or similar forum but collects other target group and circle of "fans".

Now question.. would he tackle this feat without knowing in what time someone before ran it? Probably interested in time of current "record holder" and likely goal just to beat that time and he did (though without proof). Of course for better time not only time needed but some rules of game which #klm also posted. So time beaten or new route record set only under those conditions...

And again we're in the sandbox where it's who has the nicer and better shovel and who dug the deeper hole... Do you really have nothing smarter to do than criticize, correct, gossip,..
The difference is between mountain runner and normal mountaineer and each has their goal and of course target group. Both the one and the other publish their achievements. One does it by "crawling" to the top, the other by running to the top.. One boasts with photo that he stood on it, the other with track/GPS/time how much he needed.
I don't understand why it's so wrong that someone is proud of their time and probably many of you/us would be too. Of course, if you're the "owner" of the current best time and get a hint that someone beat it, that interests you or you want to know more, not just: "he was better and ran in so much time"... Helloo???

From the train station to the top of the cable car it's a good 2 hours.
