I haven't been up, but from the webcam it's clear it's foggy today. Tomorrow a front will hit Slovenia, snow line dropping to 1000 m.a.s.l. So this weekend ain't promising, surely quite some new snow will fall.

I think the mountain isn't Škrlatica or Rjavina, as ruins are visible right below the summit of that mountain. This of course means the summit isn't higher than 2500 m.a.s.l.

You can see that the mountains are quite white, according to snow depth data from Kredarica, there is more than half a meter of snow at 2500m.

On Sunday, August 1, I visited Veliki vrh. Weather excellent, visibility very good, as you could see all the way to the High and Low Tauern, Julian and Kamnik-Savinja Alps and to the hills of Inner Carniola. I started from Matizovec farm via Kofce pasture and onwards to Veliki vrh. For the ascent I spent approx. one hour and forty-five minutes, descent half an hour less. In the morning not many people, but when returning tons, especially at the hut.

Yeah, this morning there was 15 cm of new snow on Kredarica. Tomorrow it'll be around 4°C there so the snow should melt. If possible, I recommend going on Sunday, as it forecasts a sunny, warm day without fog and storms. Regarding gear, I think you won't need an ice axe and crampons, but take warm clothes anyway, it'll be cold.

On Saturday I decided to conquer Begunjščica via Kalvarija. Quite steep but very nice scenic path. At Veliki vrh a bit windy but just right to cool off a bit. Weather cloudless, views wonderful.
