If you head to Vrata on Friday, you have 16 direct buses from Ljubljana direction available between 5:30 and 20:30. Ride takes ca 1.45 h.

If you go to Triglav in season, walk those two hours, sleep in Vrata or at Stanička, next day to the summit and after lunch you can be back in the valley already. But no, I get the young ones, us older we did Triglav like that all youth. Just some forgot it like Melania her Slovenian roots

Where does it say to get up at two at night and race up and down in one day? Take time for the hills. For racking up elevation the apartment stairwell is good enough.

If this year the barrier system works as it should and as the municipality is trying, next year it'll be normal.
I'm fine with it anyway, because I regularly use public transport. Haven't been such peace in Vrata for 30 years like now. Before it was all Czech, Dutch and our campers, cars, motorbikers... whoever can't walk or has too fine an ass to sit on the bus, can keep commenting from their home couch like before. Or go to Karnice where everything's free. They say the friendly locals even offer their daughters to graying Slovenian cowboys on top if they want )

Right after Kurja vas there should be a parking and a barrier that lifts only for deliveries and parcel owners.

In the current issue of Planinski vestnik there's an interesting article on how Triglav was deliberately degraded and blasted with dynamite so masses could flock to it. Alongside is a description of the pristine state experienced by climbers before 1895 and archive photos.

You know, years ago we celebrated NYE at Kredarica and agreed everyone brings something. The one who brought wine put two bottles of cheapest "starčak" on table. He said wine is wine anyway and waste to spend more euro. But he had to carry it 5 hours and in glasses it was still crap. We grumpy because we weren't worth that extra euro.
In short, you can carry it around the world and it stays crap. Good only for those who don't care if it's even made from grapes. Nice that dejan, whom you wrote with small letter, you value so highly.
