Dear Suzana, your contributions and photos are among the best on this forum, so I always follow them. I was especially happy about your today's post.
I thought my lost ice axe had already "got legs", but an honest lady finds it, sticks it in the snow and posts the location online.
Immediately went to the fallen larch, where I found - my ice axe gifted to me for the second time.

Thank you and many more such days in the mountains like yesterday.

Interesting photo no. 12 from lady Lidija, as the "little animal" in the pic is a rare Laški viper specimen. Its home is NW Slovenia - Breginjski kot, but the photo location suggests it has crossed the Soča river and is spreading east.
More on Laški viper here - https://sl.wikipedia.org/wiki/La%C5%A1ki_gad

Snowfield (pic 11), I crossed it too on Saturday, early morning very slippery if not icy. Recommend to all going on this path to take ice axe.

I was on Krn from Lake Krn, 25.4. Nice day - only sun, blue sky. Be aware that despite warm weather in the valley, you are entering snow conditions. To half the path from Lepena to the lake no snow, then snow conditions increase with every meter of height. At the hut still cca 2 m snow. In the early morning no sinking and crampons needed even on path to Krn, on return around noon warm, watery and sinking to ri... So, from upper pasture to upper cable station needed snowshoes.
From Lepena to hut no crampons nor snowshoes needed - if higher be equipped accordingly.

Let's realize we'll 'celebrate New Year's Eve' in TNP and nature will be grateful if we behave accordingly-firecrackers and fireworks don't belong here.

I also traversed the Krnčica ridge this year. It was nice as in the upper photos, but no cross on the summit.
Wondering who and with what permission puts such ideological symbols on our summits.
I think crosses belong in sacred objects,
on mountain tops a box with logbook is appropriate.
Interested in your opinion.

nicely written that helicopter is not autochthonous bird in Triglav National Park.
TNP Act in article 13, paragraph 40 states this-
40. flying aircraft below 1000 feet (304.8 meters) above highest current point or obstacle during flight, except for maintenance and supply needs of facilities under conditions in management plan, for state defense, protection, rescue and aid in natural and other disasters, police tasks, scientific research and meteorological service and with park manager consent for geodetic, film, video and documentary recording of park;

From TNP administration please answer for which of above reasons this helicopter flew and landed in core of TNP.

Mountain visitors know what noise such non-native bird makes.

Such things you don't ask, but on high mountain tour in winter season you take winter gear with you.

Too bad you didn't photograph it and post on the forum, so the culprits could see what they've dirtied, and uncultured hikers would have the photos as a lesson what not to do in mountains and elsewhere too.
Praise to you for the cleanup action.

Congratulations on the bold idea, and I wish you lots of success with your task, as you will contribute to better conditions in TNP. I'm sending you photos I took on 1.1.11 at Krnsko jezero - they are the result of organized New Year's Eve in mountains.

If I notice something similar on next tours, I'll gladly send them to you.

Nice tour, nice photos - congrats.
That mill isn't a mill, but renovated Petarin sawmill on Bela creek.

Dear Mr. Kotel

I'm glad you announced as "hero" who celebrated New Year at Krn Lake.
So that the whole thing is not "unchecked nonsense" as you claim, look at photos just part of what remained after your mountain New Year. Not everything is visible on photos, as I would have to photograph wider area. Theory that who doesn't throw cork also doesn't throw empty bottle holds - bottle just flies farther.

Annual celebrations for end of 1st world war I don't attend, because I think such celebrations with columns of people and shooting don't belong in such environment, so I can't comment on that, but I also wonder like you, what animals living there do during all that "pomp" then?

I suggest you read also law on Triglav National Park, so you know what fine would belong to you.
Article 65 reads.

(1) With fine from 1,000 to 5,000 euros punished for misdemeanor is person, if:

5. uses pyrotechnic means in natural environment and it's not for defense, protection or rescue needs or explosive means and it's not for permitted purposes (52. point first paragraph 13. article);

With mentioned law it would be good if informed also hut keepers and their mountaineering societies, as some organize celebrations in huts and would be obliged to instruct visitors about these things.

To you Mr. "Kotel" I suggest that in future don't celebrate New Year in mountains anymore, but on squares and streets, where you can mess, bang, light firecrackers and enjoy smoke from all powerful fireworks. Next day municipal service will clean after you and all like you - also on my account.
