Today I hiked this "hiking trail". It's located near the town of Manitou Springs and it's actually a very visited specialty in Colorado, basically these are the most visited and popular stairs in the USA. 1.44 km, 614 m elevation and 2768 steps. After yesterday's cycling on Cottonwood Pass this was quite a challenge.velik nasmeh some pics.

Hi. Not completely a hiking action, but since I've spotted similar ones, I dare to attach my post.nasmeh On Tuesday I participated in the cycling ascent to Mt. Evans (Colorado). This is the highest paved road in North America. Start in Idaho Springs, elevation 2300m, ascent length 27.6 miles to parking at 4306m. The hill top is only 42 vertical meters and since I've "already kinda been here"velik nasmeh I took the chance and climbed to the top.cool Showing some pics.velik nasmehcoolnasmehcoolvelik nasmeh

Redbull, you're not an ordinary hiker!!! You know how to use rope, ice axe and crampons, right? And your posts here are very very useful, without unnecessary ballast, always short and to the point about terrain conditions, that's what the "forum-conditions" thread is for! Let this unnecessary chatter not annoy you!

I would gladly join the group of mountaineers...even from Radovna!!

This Grintovec is really a tough mountain....can't get to the top at all! Has anyone maybe reached at least halfway, conditions though...

Turbo described the route to this hill so nicely and simply that I just printed the text and "produced" it in practice. First time in these parts, so I was a bit lost around Malo polje and Mišeljska planina, but it wasn't bad. I'll tweak Turbo's description a bit, times change, and so does human intervention: where the path to Mišeljska dolina turns sharply left (under the bushes), we were supposed to look for "our" path in the bushes, but the bushes are cut, so the path couldn't be more obvious. Only higher up in the grasses do you lose it, but the direction is obvious, cairns are just right, so you need to think a bit. After the bend you come under the scree, there you don't need them at all, it's clear to go under the scree to the steep grasses and to the saddle. To the saddle physics works, I didn't zigzag, had "good legs" (cycling jargon) and did a "blitzkrieg" straight to the saddle!velik nasmeh Through the gully it's fun, just the start is tedious. Upwards everything is climbable, just stick to the right as turbo wrote. Nothing to add, tour "top notch"!!!jezik Down then along the ridge to Na Nizkem and down to the path.

Another one who easily "steps on a mine". It doesn't matter what tour I did, what matters is how I named the hut!!! You feel like you're at least two levels above me, huh? And those who "liked" your text too.tongue

Today climbed Great Altar. Up via Brinje, down past Bivak II. At Grlo saddle crossing ignored left turn description and got nicely tangled up going up. Down to cairns was hell, then no more orientation problems. Lots of cairns, main info from saddle go left along left gully, terrain passable quite wide. Cairns still good for orientation. Ridge from notch its own story, quite adrenaline esp. with wind. Descent past Bivak via scree, too left into gully that stops you.eek Nice hot day with views, ended at firerju, if someone doesn't like it, that's their problem.tongue

I started at the Dom in Lepena. The path to the Koča at Krn Lakes is ... serpentine.zmeden The army was here, of course. From the lake upwards there is a snow tongue that can be partially (higher up) bypassed. Past the hunting hut I continued to the saddle Čez Potoče. Snow only slightly hinders the path. From the saddle to the right it gets serious. The path is very exposed and "leaning".jezik Sometimes you need to use hands and it is mentally tiring. The ridge has no end, the Lemež summit keeps slipping away.velik nasmeh Overall nice sections.
