Does anyone know why they're carrying snow into the bivouac onto the bunks? Maybe storing it for times when the bivouac is open (maybe in summer?), so water can be made from the snow? Or maybe the bivouac "leaks", even though it's locked and snowed shut?

The snow was blown in by the wind , I'm more concerned because one fixed rope is already torn off (top right).

In such a bivouac probably no one will sleep. Maybe that's why it's locked. And dedicated to itself (and the creators).

It's possible that the doors don't seal as they should, because in high mountains with strong wind snow comes through even the narrowest gaps of the structure.

Too bad there's no picture of the bivouac from inside anymore towards the entrance doors. Through the gap above the doors a suspicious blueness was visible.

Snow can come through the vents too, since the bivouac isn't completely airtight. Do overnighters have to take care of opening/closing them?

That's entirely possible too, the designers will figure it out easiest and make vents that are more closed-type from outside and still allow airflow. Similar chimney caps are available, spirally slotted open, suitable for our Karst and high mountains.

We're probably wrong, both about snow inside and cables outside, as the great men who built it wrote this: ""In fact it's a winter room not far from the otherwise closed Dom Petra Skalarja on Kanin, intended for mountain visitors, especially ski tourers, which can successfully withstand extreme winter conditions. It stands at a location offering 360-degree view on Slovenia and Italy."" (source: Citymagazine) But how can there be snow inside if it successfully withstands extreme winter conditions A bit more about the bivouac and quite some photos here: http://citymagazine.si/clanek/nov-bivak-na-kaninu-vertikalna-zimska-soba-s-sanjskim-razgledom/

But how can you stumble over such trifles, the bivouac is a Slovenian mountain architectural achievement .

That's why it's winter, to test something

Probably locked because it's in test period and still without usage permit.

They're still drying a bit on the high-mountain Karst, happy ending, all the best

Sorry for the comment: "But those sausages look better than the bivouac." Igor well documented! They're probably well prepared, dried by the wind and deep frozen. Makes me want to go up for the sausages, not for the bivouac. And I'd have nice views too. Surely homemade, with a bit of imagination they even smell.

Yes, yes, but the display is much nicer, they look like fish caught in a net.
