Bivouac on Kanin ???

Print
Guest29. 12. 2016 16:42:58
ZeK, I agree.
We went to northern Špika, and we knew where to get the key in Martuljek. It's true that times are different, but that doesn't mean that the bivouac is a polygon for celebrating birthday parties and .... But,....if the object is there anyway, is it illegal to use it. The purpose is of a completely secondary nature.zmeden

Yeah one goldy, then the caretaker Omanova said she went up to check on the two who took the key, inside there were 10 sleepless, haha

The bivouac will be maintained by locals. Just like the ski resort. or like the fort not far away, which as we know has been in full bloom for yearszmeden

When someone freezes up there in winter, he'll have to thaw out by spring before going to the cafe for the bivouac keys, which he won't need anymore because he'll drink hot tea right therevelik nasmeh.

While we're on keys. Someone's been waiting two weeks in front of the locked door of Žakljev bivouac under Triglav, where it says I'll come right away. Who to turn to? PZS? Unless frozen solid like a Siberian mammoth by nowvelik nasmeh

On the PZS website it says:
"Criterion for bivouacs: the facility provides basic shelter to visitors. "

It doesn't say there have to be mattresses and blankets. Nor that there shouldn't be antlers on the wall. But it does say it provides basic shelter, which isn't true if the entrance is locked.

It's really interesting to read those comments, but the bivouac has a nice view and can be really nice if you're up there in the evening with the right keys mežikanje.

Pointless idea with keys, if one opens the bivouac announced, some third who needs shelter and comes by chance bivouacs there overnight too.
Bivouac of open type should serve mountaineers in winter, like under Skuta, in summer it'll be sealed anyway.

With such promotion occupancy will be high, so
there'll be a waiting list for keys.eek

Everything in this world has two sides of the coin, so the current locking regime of the bivouac will contribute to better oversight of users and thus greater awareness and responsibility in handling the bivouac, or in case of damage to the facility also personal responsibility and compensation for the damage.

Viharnik, that's true, but the fact is still that under this regime the one who needs the bivouac in emergency will stay outside. Meaning, in his case it doesn't matter if the bivouac wasn't there at all. Unless maybe he gets lucky and someone is exactly in the bivouac at that time and it's open.

If it was an emergency, he'd probably "unlock" it with an ice axe or hammer velik nasmeh
Of course he'd then take responsibility and pay for the damage.
I think locking a purpose-built bivouac is misguided thinking, just my humble opinion.

It's also interesting that the new bivouac is still not listed under bivouacs in the Julian Alps, which also can't be if it's the locked type.
