Today the weather on Blegoš started to deteriorate, fog enveloped the summit and strong wind, announcing slightly worse weather coming. The top is quite frozen, so hikers will find crampons useful. Paths are walked from all sides, in lower areas there's already quite some thaw. Best, Andrej

Today it was really nice up to Blegoš. Just quite windy, all along the ridge, at the top even more. Down went fine too. A bit via shortcuts, then back to Kal, then even sledding to Andrejon. And the tour ended. Nice greetings, and welcome.

What are the current conditions on Blegoš, I see that around the top there's only a few snow patches left, but that's on the sunny side.

I was on Blegoš on April 11. Snow is on the north side, on the south only in the forest. At the top there were small snow patches, or rather slush There's still some on the path from top to hut, but passable everywhere.

The ascent to Blegoš today in the morning passed in quite "pleasant" gusts and accompanied by quite strong snowfall. Visibility on the path kept changing (about 50-100m). In the forest there's quite a bit of new snow (around 50 cm), which allows easy skiing if you have very floaty skis on your feet (I unfortunately don't have them yet, so it's much harder). The top of Blegoš is windblown almost to the ground, drifts in some forest parts are quite high (over a meter too). Blegoš needs one more such shipment of snow on today's base, then the conditions will be as they should be. Due to fog and snowfall, I didn't take photos today, as the camera stayed in the backpack. If Monday's trip to Blegoš was for fitness, today's was for the soul. In the morning, my colleague from Žetina and I broke the track along the road to the hut and to the very top (hand on heart, he did it, I diligently followed...). The night snowfall deposited another 20 cm of dry snow and you can imagine what poetry "swimming" down to the valley on dry powder was. Don't set out on the path without skis or snowshoes, there's simply too much snow for trudging. Since the weather was foggy again, the camera stayed nicely in the car. Next time. LP Andrej

How much is there up top, probably around 60-70 cm?

Above the hut I stuck the pole into the snow and it sank nicely over a meter, didn't reach the ground. Data from the meteo station at Martinj vrh shows snow a bit over 90 cm, higher of course more. Given snow forecast for tonight and tomorrow again, there will be even more over the weekend. LP Andrej

Today with colleague once more headed to Blegoš, this time from the valley i.e. Davča-Potok junction. We gained over 1000m elevation, hut open and invites to excellent cracklings. For ascent we used the track made by predecessors, very grateful for it. Top as whole week fog and wind making drifts. New dry snow ca 10 cm. Still recommend snowshoes or skis for ascent, but path to hut from Žetina already broken by most persistent walkers. About enjoying fresh powder better not talk, imagine what pleasure 1000m descent is. LP Andrej

On Sunday 12.12. we went to Blegoš from saddle Črni Kal. To parking at Črni Kal not possible with normal car, too much snow and ice. Parked right on narrow road to Črni Kal and had hard time turning around on return. Weather gorgeous and view too. Snow already quite settled and mostly not sinking. Had small 4-point crampons which came handy on icy spots but would reach top without big problems even without. Hut open, no crowd. Didn't feel cold as strong sun warmed us.

On Sunday, Andrej and I ascended Blegoš from the junction for Črni Kal above the village Suša. The forest road was snow-covered, so we trudged to Črni Kal, from there on it was nicely trodden, and a ski track had also been laid. Actually, all possible accesses to Blegoš were well trodden. Lots of snow up to the top, on the top wind-blown. The wind probably has a subscription on Blegoš, as I've never experienced it windless . The top was occasionally foggy, the sun showed itself too.
