Yesterday, on Wednesday 29.04.2015, a short evening hike from Studenice higher into the world of Boč. Tuesday's rain was not noticeable; it barely moistened the gardens, and under the already quite lush growth on Boč it was mostly dry. Along the left path through Stara drevesnica to Formila and from there another good hundred meters to the partisan hospital at Formila and back to Studenice, of course. Even today, after seventy years, despite the forest road leading directly above it, well hidden... A bit over 11 kilometers, half a thousand elevation gain... quite enough, because Wednesday was quite strenuous in the previous hours. It was a late hour, met no one, runners and cyclists had already completed their routes beforehand, and no more wild garlic pickers  , it has already started flowering....Studenice -Boč/partizanska bolnica na Formili in nazaj,29.04.2015

On the 1st of May day, afternoon hike to the Boč summit to the RTV tower for a short training. Start: Studenice. Then along the source of the Studeniški/Topli stream higher under Stara drevesnica. Connection to the old hunting path, which is still in use in and above the Lajše area. Up the hunting path and after junction with the ridge upward on unmarked but well-trodden trail. This is a distinct world of ridges and evening/night here not the most suitable. Strong wind blowing, north and east winds "fought" for dominance, here and there a few drops from the clouds. After reaching the RTV tower, descended preferably via the calmer route regarding yesterday's wind direction - through Stara drevesnica. Kilometers just about twelve/dozen... elevation in this direction guaranteed around 800 up and just as much down, practically always upward except on the hunting path a few negative meters for path variety. Yeah, it was pleasant  ...

Weather today not quite optimal for any move, although weather is always right... Used the central part of the day for a visit to one of the lower Boč summits in the Makole area, more Plešivec than Boč... More in the route description.... LP

On Monday, 04.05.2015, the route where you surely get to know best the width of the north side of Boč - the area above Studenice and Poljčane. From Studenice to the junction with the asphalt road to Boč from Zgornje Poljčane and back, mostly at around 600 meters elevation, a short, interesting and varied path led me late in the afternoon. Late Saturday afternoon, a short hike between Studenice and Zgornje Poljčane and back. Highest today at 613 m. Showers were showering me non-stop but the already strongly grown greenery was a good umbrella. Paths partly wet, muddy, slippery...

After about a day and a half of rainy more or less hours, end of precipitation. Finally some more in our area, not just for gardens but also for forests...Afternoon today from Studenice higher into the world of Boč. One for training, unique, this combination I haven't walked yet. Through Stara drevesnica and Formila to the junction of hiking paths from Makole and Čače vas/Kostrivnica at the cross. Here also the highest point of the path today 700 m. Return back to Formila and between Kisovec and Stavski vrh on the hiking path to Makole to the junction Hrastovec under Boč. From there on the forest road back to Studenice. Various surfaces, paths wet, muddy and quite slippery here and there. One combination, first time today and probably never again...

On Sunday 17.05.2015 hiking in the central part of Boč. The main point was the 791 m high Hrastovec in the Rogaška/Kostrivnica area. Then also to the point of the same name but different meaning - junction Hrastovec under Boč. Paths wet, partly muddy and some cloudiness, which at the end turned into a nice sunny day. Colleague and neighbor Vinko along. He's returning after an unpleasant ankle and shin injury that he got while picking rifles in the vineyard at the end of February. Combination again quite atypical, had to cross the Formila clearing three times and through the Stara drevesnica area twice. It was a pleasant afternoon...

Afternoon today mainly because of the sources of Studeniški/Topli stream in the world of Boč. Expected somewhat higher water level, which is not typical for the month of May. And indeed, the brutal power of water at the sources was visible. All four working and water from all murky. Precipitation in three days plenty but they were somehow smart, no heavy downpours and the soil excellently absorbed the water...To have something more a bit higher in Boč up to 736 m today...Pešpoti/Boč above Studenice, 23.05.2015 and Boč/Stara Drevesnica above Studenice, 23.05.2015 Lp

Hiking to the bald Plešivec area today in the central part of the day. One of the lower summits, 679 m high Ravnocerje again after some weeks the goal of the route. Weeks ago in the variant of hiking paths. I had enough muddy surfaces in the past days so today a fully almost forest/road variant for a change. On the return, somewhat extended the activity over Gavez, Formila, Golnik cabin and back to Studenice. Pleasant, although with a bike today on this route it would also be very suitable...

Sunday, the fifth in May this year. After night showers and also morning/afternoon ones there was no real idea where and how!? Afternoon anyway to the 822 m high PLešivec in one fairly varied combination from Studenice. This I already walked on holiday Easter Monday/6 April 2015 and today repetition. Situation similar, soaked and muddy terrains partly only no snow showers unlike then. Definitely pleasant in three hours in the central part of Boč and Plešivca on relatively easy paths today...

In the evening on the first of June day, short "Ypsilon" combination above Studenice... area of Stara drevesnica. First to hunting feeders and along the right/western path to junction with forest road to the tower, at 735 meters height... return back to feeders and from there also along left/eastern path to junction with forest road to tower at 670 meters height. Then return back to Studenice... For a short Monday (in)glance at Boč it was enough.

Hot Thursday day, 04.06.2015 but in the evening Studenice definitely right starting point... Distinct northern position above Studenice and hiking along source of Studeniški/Hot stream, through Stara Drevesnica - left/eastern path, Formila clearing, Hrastovec junction below Boč further and descent along forest road back to Studenice... It was pleasant already mainly in shade of Boč forests - on dry paths...

Short hike today higher above Studenice to Stara Drevesnica and to the junction of left and right or western and eastern paths... The whole path is practically an ascent; it levels a bit only at the source of the Studeniški stream and at the crossing of a somewhat higher forest road... It was enough, only a good hour was available today on a hot already somewhat humid Saturday afternoon, tomorrow is a new day...

11.07.2015. Boč
Very early start from Poljčane. Upward along forest educational path, then to Balunjača. Purpose was to try new climbing aid. And we did it. All four. Then summit - view good, but Varaždin we didn't see (Boč is visible without problems from northern part of Varaždin) because to the east already haze. To the west though no problem Celje, KSA and Menina planina.
Descent to hut, short snack and talk with Bojan and over Baba back to car. With me were friends Cvika, Juka and Tina.
The climbing aid is nice thing. But in my opinion it is much harder than just very demanding. In the middle it would be good to hammer another peg, like this need to go too much left of wire rope. Last vertical and overhanging part (starts with two staples) is exceptionally demanding. I already ran out of strength and my right arm cramped strongly so here I chose right climbing through grassy rocks. And yes, went without safety set which is pure madness. Helmet and safety set obligatory, it is really vertical.

Combination of bike and hiking today, 21.07.2015. Extreme western part of Boč between Lovnik/panzer barriers and Pečica. From Poljčane typical road ride along Bela stream to Lovnik/panzer barriers. Bike left in safe ,,camouflage,, greenery and hiking higher towards Pečica to hunters hut Boč. Combination forest road and part of hiking path Boč – Dolga gora railway station. This is last important point still in Boč area, hunters hut Boč. ,,Threw,, a glance down to Pečica pass and also higher to summit Vrhovnica, which is already part of linking hills towards Konjiška gora… Hot and very humid it was… Down the throat sent bidon of still cold home-made mint and stevia juice. No time to hesitate… return along reverse route back to Poljčane. Yes, still one pleasant undemanding sequence in lower Boč area it was - pleasant - optimal combination of bike for eco approach and hiking step...

Stara Drevesnica on Boč... precise junction of left and right paths, today goal of short hiking activity higher into Boč world. Fairly late afternoon already partly evening hour for short training with better half, pleasant in two. Mainly dry path, some tens of meters maybe muddy at standard spots, where karst-limestone base not pronounced...

Yes, the Boč and Plešivec area also has, of course, besides the more mighty Pohorje, Velika and Mala Kopa. While Velika Kopa is a quite pronounced summit above the Ravnocerje plateau, Mala Kopa is more of a geographical area with an indistinctly defined summit. Mala Kopa is located between the hiking path over Plešivec summit and the forest road over Plešivec, already somewhere in the part towards Donačka gora. Until today on Mala Kopa twice and today it was the third time in a distinctly circular hiking combination from Studenice. ,,Captured,, quite a few points so that the path got a suitable shape in distance, elevation meters, various surfaces...in the three hours that were available. Yes it was pleasant, although also higher in the forests of Boč and Plešivca quite hot and also some humidity in the afternoon hours...

From Studenice higher into the Boč world, hiking along the old Roman and forest road to the junction with the hiking path Makole - Boč somewhat below the Hrastovec junction on Boč. Along the hiking path between Kisovec/west and Stavski vrh/east to the Formila clearing. It was late, so Formila was already in the shade. Descent back to Studenice through Stara Drevesnica and that was it/short activity - for the tiring Tuesday in the previous hours perfectly and just enough...
